March 31, 2018 Coast Insider Audio Video: 18th Century Shipwreck Washes Ashore in Florida A mother and son walking along a beach in Florida were stunned to see that a rather sizeable shipwreck has somehow washed ashore. Initially thinking that it was merely a big piece of driftwood, Julie Turner could not believe her eyes when she got closer and realized that it was the 48-foot-long remains of a ship. Maritime historians from the area marveled at the incredible vessel, calling it "the holy grail of shipwrecks" due to both its fairly-well-preserved condition as well as its remarkable age of origin, which could be as far back as the 1700's. Learn more. 18CenturyShipwreckNL The Power of 'Gamma Healing' Over the last 18 years, Matthew Ryan has developed a healing technique he calls "Gamma Healing," which he said was given to him during an amazing UFO sighting. He joined Jimmy Church (email) in the first half on Friday to talk about his abilities, other dimensions, and his contact experience. Ryan began his appearance with a detailed description of his dramatic sighting, which occurred in 2004 during a routine hike in the northern New Mexico mountains near his Taos home. While heading down a game trail in the woods, Ryan says he was compelled to look up, and almost immediately, a chrome-colored object about 30 feet long and "shaped like an almond" descended over him, hovering over the treetops. The object seemed to emanate a low-pitched tone that "went through every single cell" in Ryan's body. See the full recap here. Are You a Coast Insider? Ryan said that he hadn't, but that on subsequent trips to the forest, we was "desperately hoping for that craft to come back." Samson, who referred to himself in the third person, asked if Ryan has had his DNA tested for any anomalies. He has not, but suggested that researchers on "the bleeding edge of science" might be able to do this sort of testing. After Ryan signed off, Justin in North Carolina mentioned that he'd seen the same UFO that an earlier caller described moving over the town of Bristol, Tennessee a few years ago. See the rest here. Contemplating the Divine Mind:
In the second half of Sunday's show, Jungian psychoanalyst with a background in Judaism and Zen Buddhism, Michael Gellert , spoke about the history of God concepts in various religious traditions and how they sync up with human consciousness and psychology. Most religions, he noted, are trying to fathom the "divine mind" and make it available to us as individuals. As these religions develop over millennia and explore the more mystical side, "they teach us that the divine mind is something we find in our selves" or our psyche, "and we can contact it by going inwards," he detailed. In the first half of Wednesday's show, psychology professor Steven Pinker shared his assessment of the human condition in the third millennium, showing that life, health, prosperity, safety, peace, knowledge, and happiness are on the rise, not just in the West, but worldwide thanks to reason and science. Looking at the news, we often think things are getting worse and worse, but this is because the media typically focuses on violent and disturbing events above all else, he pointed out, and this tends to distort or slant our view of the world. The rate of extreme poverty has gone down dramatically over the last 30 years, he cited, from around 50% to 9.6%, and death from wars is now 1.2 per 100,000 versus during the Viet Nam war era when it was 9 per 100,000. Friday the 13th Superstitions
In the first half, Charles Reichblum, author of the Knowledge in a Nutshell book series, discussed Friday the 13th and related superstitions, as well as shared other interesting tidbits. "We can't escape it... the way our calendars are sequenced there has to be at least one Friday the 13th every year," he said, noting any month that begins on Sunday will have a Friday the 13th. He traced the notion of 13 as unlucky to a Viking legend about a group of twelve feasting in a banquet hall when a thirteenth showed up uninvited to cause mischief. He also referenced the biblical story of the Last Supper in which the thirteenth attendee, Judas, betrayed Jesus. More.

New Cases of Mysterious Disappearances:
David Paulides has been researching mysterious disappearances in U.S. national parks for over a decade with cases having eerie similarities. In the first half of Sunday's show , he joined George Knapp for an update on his recent investigations, including a number of instances where skiers have inexplicably gone missing, both current and in the past. 21-year-old Grant Cox, just released from the military in 1947, went skiing at Sugar Bowl Ski Lodge in California and vanished without a trace. A second search was done after the snow melted, and there was no sign of his ski poles or any of his equipment. Disappearing in 1988 in Rocky Mountain National Park, 27-year-old German tourist Rudi Moder also went missing while skiing. A soldier, he'd received advanced mountaineering and high altitude training while in the German military. A search found his "food cave" and pack but no fresh tracks. The next summer, Paulides recounted, another search was conducted, but the team found no trace, though oddly they heard "1942 German sonar-type sounds near Lulu mountain." Read the full recap here.
