I finally think I am getting some important things done. Dropped off a paper needing a dr. signature for a cancer Insurance claim, got the papers faxed and signed to the health care for me since things changed when he died. made some calls that needed to be made. Got the call from the funeral guy that the fixed DC's are in. so still need to work on the HSA transfer into my name, and the 2 cancer insurance policies, see what else I am forgetting to transfer into my name. when I get this stuff done, then I will work on getting an updated will and new beneficiaries, and new POA for both health and finances... so still much to do...but it is coming together just a bit more. hope you all have a great day!. click to enlarge Attachment Deleted

well it is almost 6pm, and another day on the phone or fax machine or copying stuff to be mailed for claims. I have a head ache, not a migraine, but just from reading fine print stuff and getting things checked in the right boxes.
Paula, brought the corrected death certificates today and I made her a nice lunch.
to night I am trying to catch up on emails and news items that I have not had a chance to listen to.
it is cold, I have bath tub water dripping so the pipes will not freeze.
hope you all have a great and safe week-end.

Sounds like you are making progress, SAR. You can just take it one day and one or two steps at a time and it will all work out. (((HUGS)))
Housing guy came yesterday and replaced my really old broken toilet seat and put a new drain in my kitchen sink yesterday. So glad because the sink was leaking and I knew the toilet seat was going to bust soon.
So tired of winter even though I know that most of you probably have had it much worse than we have. Waiting for spring......

We got more snow. Not a whole lot and it's light and fluffy. We had bitterly cold temperatures last night and this morning, now it's warming up and we are to get heavy overnight and into tomorrow afternoon before it's done. Then everything will be slippery again! I hate the ice. We do have lots of salt to put down on the steps and drive way. Our power went out this morning for a couple hours. Billy's son came and started the generator for us. Billy isn't supposed to be doing anything strenuous and that generator is hard to start. I'm glad you are getting some things done, Sar. I took care of the important stuff right away after Gabby died, but things like putting the power bill in my name, I didn't do that for about a year or so. PL, I'm glad the housing guy came and got some things fixed up for you.

We only got a tiny dusting of snow, but had strong winds and dropping temps. Still nothing like you are getting in northern Ohio, Canada, Minnesota, etc. Getting cabin fever! The co-op had strawberries 2 containers for a dollar when I was there last Tuesday. I bought two (wish I had room for more!), cut up and froze them. I made strawberry muffins this morning and they were delicious. Took some to the neighbor who gave me the bread last month. I don't think I have never seen them at that price! Heading to bed. Good thoughts to all.

We are getting another snow storm tomorrow evening and overnight. I've had enough of winter.
As you can see I've been playing around with the Avatar maker thing. I'll probably play some more some day and change my looks. lol
I have a roast beef cooking on a low temperature to try to make it more tender. We got 2 roasts and cut them both in 2 because they would of been too much for us. The first one I cooked was tough. The second one I cooked on low heat and it was tender. So this time I'm doing that again except I'm cooking it in my electric frying pan instead of the oven. Hopefully it turns out even better. I've cooked roasts in it before and they were always good.
I hope you are all having a great day.

csue, we are getting snow after midnight and then tomorrow night. I am waiting on the insurance man, seems we missed a dot or crossed a t and so he is stopping by for me to sign more papers. I cook all my roasts in my crockpots.. they are always tender no matter what cut of beef it is. I rarely eat beef, yrs of not eating it for Dan... so I usually have chicken or a lean pork roast. but I do love me some good BEEF!..lol lots of recipes in the kitchen forum.:) wow it is 25! warmest it has been for several days. oh and all the feral kittens are now teenagers and they are putting a por no show on my frnt porch! UGH that means MORE kittens in about 60 days...great..just great!

Snow! It is definitely a 4 letter word! I swear to you that I have plowed my driveway these first 2 months of 2018 more than I did the last 2 years. I think maybe God blessed me with not having to do the snow then as I was busy taking care of Tim. Don't know but he's certainly making up for it now. The saying goes, "God doesn't give you more than you can handle." Well I just wish that sometimes He didn't trust me this much! Just sayn....

I am grinning at you, speecher, that is my mantra.. God does not give us more then we can handle.. wish he did not trust me so much! lol (just sometimes!) we are getting snow... I had to wade through 6 inches to get to the barn then the shed, and more snow coming.. and it is 20. My cats have cabin fever... and my septic system is not working .. they said they think it is a relay switch I hope that is all.. these systems are about 1500.00 just for the aerator! I like seeing the new members being active here.. what a blessing and it makes me excited when I turn on my computer, to interact with all the friends that live in my computer!!!!

PHEW. Well, that was a day. We got freezing overnight and this morning. It was supposed to warm up by the time I had to leave to go "over the mountain" into town for my eye appt. It was still 32 when I left the house - but the trees WERE starting to drip and gravel was showing through the icy tracks on my road. Highway was heavily salted and fine. I still had an echo of something I experienced agonizingly clearly right after Mike died. The "I can't" reflex. But it's getting pretty weak these days.... LOL. "I can't"... drive myself where I want to go; it's been too long - yadda-yadda - I might get lost!! (horrors)... yeah right. I drove the 300 miles from the beach up here 4-5 times... maybe 6... and it was already dark on the last trip up to meet the movers the next day here at the farm. Scratch that "I can't" off the list. Over & over & over again... I've faced a whole couple years worth of "I can't"s. And done them anyway. Maybe not fast; maybe not perfect; but I figured out a way. I finally figured out what that was - since I've always been kinda adventurous and "can't" wasn't really in my vocabulary. How did I get to feeling I couldn't do those things anymore? Split wood - what with a sharp blade??? LOL. And what it was, was I'd become dependent on Mike to take care of things like that... he did it, and didn't want me to try - those were "his" jobs. The "I can't" was being afraid - fearful that I'd forgotten how, wasn't as strong, didn't have his head for numbers.... whatever. He took care of me, by doing those things - so they got erased from my "hard drive's" memory of stuff I know, I know how to do. Like splitting wood for kindling. But I still won't drive by myself into Baltimore to see my D. She just told me today, it feels different being out at the farm and hearing someone shooting... than it does hearing 4-5 shots a couple blocks away... and then returning fire. I ain't fixin' to travel to Afghanistan or Syria anytime soon, either! LOL. But it's not because I CAN'T; I could - but I wouldn't enjoy myself very much.

I so hear what you are saying SJ.. I never did drive very much, one, I can not see very well, and two, my depth perseption is nil...and I used to have panic attacks in the car. 3 strikes.! I will drive around here, and I even bravely drove him to the cancer place and VA .. but I did not like it and the physical stress is not worth it.. so unless the world will end.. I only drive where I feel comfortable! proud of you , though conquering those "I Can;t" demons! I decided to have an egg omelette for dinner, it really hit the spot, having my coffee now... mmmmm....made enough for all... Attachment Deleted

I made some calls this AM, then made a big pot of chicken soup ..will share! grab a bowl!
need to work on a few more paperwork stuff.. but I am so tired. I think from all the go go go for the last month mentally I am just drained now. the cold weather and snow is not helping.. I am cold all the time and soooo tired...
having odd dreams... last night I dreamed I was in a convertible driving and missed a turn and went right up the side of a mountain and the car was about the flip over and slide back down, I could see the tree tops before I woke up...
would love for some good restfully healing sleep!
