we are in a moderate drought, the grass crunches when you walk, I have kept the shed kitties in the shed with 4 fans but all that does is move HOT air, I don't like when the heat index is above 100 as it is now. Stay safe in this heat, and please put out water for strays.

went out dancing last night, Oh my gosh it was humid, was drenched by the time I got ome, I took 2 magnesium pills and so thankful I had NO leg cramps! today it is sweltering again, I need to mow but not going to even try in this heat.
seems there is always something, now my bathroom facett upstairs is dripping, it is at least 25 yrs old, so just needs replaced, I no longer can turn myself upside down so will have to get someone to help.. it is always something... but it is also fixable! so that is the blessing.
hope you are all staying as cool and safe as possible in the heat.

Glad you got to go out Saturday night, SAR. I'm sure it was fun. And yep, sounds like you'll have to get help for that faucet. I guess I'm lucky that where I live the maintenance is taken care of.
Not fond of these very hot and humid days but it looks like we are going to get a little break, down to the 80's for a few days. We won't be getting the effects of the hurricane hitting Florida this time. Keeping them in my prayers as they deal with it.
Went to the podiatrist Friday morning and didn't find out anything that I didn't already know. She suggested an MRI to image the soft damage but laying on my back for that long is too painful and I'm claustrophobic. Believe it or not, I told her that she might think I was crazy but that I had started to use castor oil packs. She said, no, not crazy at all! She suggested bracing and more physical therapy.
I feel sad that I wasn't able to make it to my second cousin's funeral Friday, but I was in a lot of pain, not to mention my afternoon fatigue. Visitation was at 2 p.m. and the funeral service at 4. I'm glad that I got to be close to her for the last 30 years.
Hope everyone is keeping cool and trying to enjoy life this week.

Sorry you missed the funeral, but at least you were there when she was alive.
I'm reading up on castor oil packs,, but its overwhelming sometimes.. I'd like to try them on my stomach where I have adhesion. and my hip that hurts alot.
I need to get a good quality castor Oil...
I mowed today, as hot as it is but with the rains coming I at least got the front done. after Wed. we are to have a break in the temps and humidity..
I am supposed to go out both fri and sat night, same place is having the 2 bands my group follows... hope I can hold up...lol@
waving to all that pop in, and hoping you are enjoying this last full month of summer.

Happy that we are getting a break from the high temps. It was only in the upper 70's today!
Hope you make it out to have fun this weekend, SAR. And if you decide to try castor oil, be sure to mix it with a carrier oil like coconut, almond, or jojoba to help thin it out and make it less sticky. I made some a little while ago in a squeeze bottle and added a few drops of frankincense oil in it to try as I'm having such bad issues with my knee and foot today. Planned to try to hit the farmers market in the morning but will have to see if my leg will make it.
Picked more green beans, cherry tomatoes and a cucumber today. It's not much, but every little bit helps.
Prayers for those in Japan who are dealing with the aftermath and aftershocks of a 7.1 quake a couple of days ago.
Hope everyone has a pleasant and happy weekend!

Glad you got that new sink and faucet upstairs done, SAR. One less thing on your list! Got plans for this weekend? Randy says he's coming by to give me a laptop computer that he installed Linux Mint on. I haven't tried Linux in years so this ought to be interesting.
It's been about an average summer here so far. Only a very few days of excessive heat and humidity. I am hearing cicadas when I go outside! I thought they were done, but maybe not. Still picking green beans, cherry tomatoes and a cucumber here and there, although the cuke plants are about done, unfortunately. Dehydrated some basil and peppermint recently and am getting ready to blanch green beans to freeze this morning. Wish I had more room in my freezer!
Hope more start stopping by here. Waving to those who do.

Hello all! I can feel a little bit of fall in the air! That is sure welcome, we've had such a hot and humid summer.
I have people coming this week to give my heat pump a good deep cleaning. I want it working good for the winter. The air conditioner on it sure got a good workout this summer. I have it going today even though it's little bit cooler out with the slight breeze.
Sar, I just rub the castor oil on my skin before I go to bed, where there is a pain and on places like over my gall bladder that isn't hurting but I want it to stay good. I'm not ever going to the hospital because of what happened to my cousin Brenda when she went in to get her gall bladder removed. I read an article from the Health Ranger that said hospitals are being paid to kill the unvaccinated when they go in. They give them something that destroys their kidneys and then they die. That's exactly what happened here to my cousin Brenda! So I rub castor oil over parts that I want to stay good, it you do have a pain it will take it away too. I don't do the packs and the oil doesn't stain my pajamas.
PL, I'm getting cherry tomatoes too, the other plant are the bigger tomatoes but it's a very tall plant just like the cherry tomato plant. My cucumbers didn't do so well but my yellow beans were good, I got some frozen.
Have a great Sunday everyone!
