Goodness, SAR, those poor kitties. I'm glad that Rick is there helping you. for Heather and her family.
Kona, I hope your dad and MIL get their blood pressure issues under control. It's hit and miss at the stores around here as well. It's a good thing that I always buy things ahead, like toilet paper, because I haven't found it in any store I've been in for the last two weeks.
GG, prayers for your daughter who will be having surgery in May.
It was in the 70's the last two days so worked outside a bit preparing containers for planting and cleaning up. Neighbors but no one gets close. The neighbor's continues to be annoying at all hours of the night as she leaves it out to roam and bark. I hated to do it but I sprinkled cayenne pepper along the edges of the yard around my apartment to keep her from pooping here and standing by my windows barking at anything that moves. Housing will only come here for emergencies now.
On the plus side, people here are making face masks for medical workers like people in other areas of the country are doing as well. They are doing other projects to help others here as well. It's so nice when people figuratively "come together" for the benefit of all.
Haven't seen either of my boys in probably three weeks but they do check on me. Hope you are all staying well and keeping busy.

glad you popped in PL hang in there....sorry the is still an issue. these are feral kitties born on the porch when this batch is gone there will be non that were close to people (Dan sat on the porch and coaxed them up.... when he died they stayed...so we say we do not get attached but when you are feeding them once a day and they come running... you do get some favorites... even though we could never even touch them'

here it is 11 :50 I am beat my feet and legs hurt and you can not tell we worked our butts off all day.. and lost the brown seal point simese Rocky today that is 3 for 3... we are watching the rest of the ferals we can see.. but 3 days ago there were 15 between the barn, woods and our porch now there are only 8 and I think they were exposed... if they all die I begged rick to get anything related to cats off my porch and we'll screen it I am not wanting any ferals ANY at all... people throw the pegnant cats out when they see the barns here on this rd only 5 houses. I have a beautiful Bengal tabbie ready to pop out babies (if she lives) in the hay loft.... she was thrown out a blue van....I hate people sometimes, she is so loving and scared.
we are doing clean up but the wind was so bad it almost swept Rick off the ladder today getting to a gutter.

So sad that people dump them like that. Again, I'm glad that Rick is there to help you deal with it.
was so heavy here Saturday. Water was pooling up by my back door and I realized that the concrete splash block under the gutter drain is positioned so that the water is running back to the apartment instead of away from it. I had been smelling musty, moldy smells under my kitchen sink and since there were no leaks there I have concluded that the splash block is the problem and the water must be running under the foundation. I don't think I can lift it to fix it and not sure if I can get housing to come do it or not but it needs to be taken care of. The trash container is right next to the back door, sitting in that deep mud now, too.
I sure do seem to complain a lot don't I?

I sat outside all day in 35 degrees because of a kitty someone threw away and she found our barn, had kittens today.... must have been her first litter because she was scared and she is so young (bengal tabbie tiger) the first kit was breech and I could see the sack and tail and the poor mama was screaming and pushing so hard.. so, long story short... 6 hrs and 5 kittens later, they are resting and I am still shivering and slight feverd, so I am using my arsenal of tinctures and vitamins to not let this get me sick!
While this was going on in the barn, there was a dead new born on the porch... have no idea but one of the ferals (only kittens themselves) probably dropped it out and had no clue .. Rick buried it.... such is life on the farm!

SAR I sure hope you were able to lick whatever you were dealing with the other day and are better now!
A few nights ago the woke me up from a deep sleep at 2:30 a.m. barking by my a/c so I got a big cup of water, walked outside my back door and started to hurl the water at her. She bolted for her owner's apartment before the water even hit the ground. I have NEVER seen her move so quickly! So far she hasn't been back for a repeat performance. I wasn't able to get back to sleep that night but I had a few chuckles out of it. I like dogs but her owner is very irresponsible.
Went grocery shopping yesterday and worked outside for awhile this morning. Such an exciting life, eh?
Hope you all are well and using your time productively.

that is funny about the it willget that you can just leave a glass of water there and she'll not come there anymore! lol we were outside all day and burned all the timings for the 80 ft pine we dropped last week and we both can barely more. I also got a load of laundry done and hung out and got wood brought in.. we worked hard all day 4 ferals kittens 5 months old all had babies this week, all of the babies are dead. dont know if something came and killed the 5 live ones but the rest were babies having babies ad just did not know what to do, I was picking up dead kittens still in the sacs or placeta still attached... so sad, Rick buried 12 babies together today.. so be it... it is 12 we would not scrap up off the rd.anyway it is sad, but it is all nature. I need to get my computer stuff done so I can fall into bed! oh yeah.... it is to be 25 in the morning and SNOW!

I had a headache today and was able to actually lay down and nap and felt much better when I got up.... might be weather since it was snowing on and off all day!
tomorrow if I am up to it I got some mulch to put down and we did trim some evergreen shrubs today, I pointed out and he cut cause I could not even bend over with the pressure in my head.
even though we buried all the dead babies I am concerned their are some somewhere close we have not found.. buzzard just flew round and round over the yard all day..... usually I know to start looking for "something" when they come this close.
also have 3 mating pairs of Canada geese honking all day in the field right next to our side yard. and so spring begins.. I have not seen any hummers yet.

How sad about those babies, SAR. It's rough when feral kittens are born when it's so cold anyway, sadly. Hard to imagine having snow right now. Everything is green and almost seasonably warm for now but raining the next few days.
I sprinkled chili powder on the little patches of grass in front of the neighbor on the other side of the woman with the . Whenever she comes home late in the morning from wherever she goes, she lets the loose and it heads for that tiny yard (and the lady that lives there is livid about it) to take a leak and sometimes more. Well I watched to see what would happen with the chili powder there today. Would you believe....the maintenance workers were outside by Pam's apartment with the water leak nearby, and woman had the in her car and PICKED up that fat and CARRIED it into her apartment??? She knows that is not supposed to be loose. I haven't seen it outside since so I wonder if she'll let her out tonight.
Hope your headache is better. I'm dealing with painful swelled sinuses from the neighbor's toxic dryer fumes.
