As the saying goes, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Well it sure has come in like a lion so I hope the last part of that saying is true! Most of us are sick of winter. Kona, sorry your family has been ill. Seems to be a lot of that going around. I never did get a headache or fever or runny nose or anything like that....it just went straight to my lungs. Not completely gone yet but getting close. SAR hope things are going okay there and that you are getting things done that need to be done. I'll bet you can't wait for spring so you can get outside in nice weather! Don't know if I mentioned it but someone moved into the other side of this duplex and I've discovered how thin these bedroom walls are! Trying to figure out a way to move this computer back into the living room so I don't disturb the guy next door. As it was, I was coughing all the time in here and there is no way he didn't hear it! to all who stop by!

thanks for starting the March Cafe, PL. I came to do it and of course got side tracked. Sat morning I got up and Casey Kitty passed during the night. I knew she probably would and prayed she would.. and the angels came and got her. her litter all passed frpm issues, she was the last of that litter and only 7 yrs old .. but it is all ok. sad, but numbers are slowly going down. today after I rest a few minutes I have to find and figure out the scan, copy and fax thingie...as VA just sent another letter saying the Dr reports are not coming in and it is my responsibility. think is I SENT ALL OF THEM not one but 2 times now again. it is maddening! I'm hoping the att. will just take it on and leave me out of the rest of this madness. I made a crockpot of lasagna yesterday, and it was so good I ate too much not the gluten is messing my tummy all up. but it WAS good! lol Vera took me out to the winery Sat. night and we hade a rib dinner.. oh mercy it was good! and so was the band. I think we'll start going more often. sun is shining and it is only 20 degrees...: hugs and prayers for all here. since we have snow and below freezing temps this whole week... I might take a while to re decorate! lol

Sorry to hear about Casey Kitty, SAR. :( As far as the VA problems, maybe make copies and send them by registered mail so you have proof that they got them. Mmmm...long time since I had lasagna.... Glad you got to go out! I was supposed to go to lunch with Rob today but just wasn't up to it.
I think it's up to about 20 degrees here too after being near 0 last night. Ugh. Tired of winter! At least we'll be warming up to the 40's by the weekend, I think.

Hi All!
So sorry to hear about Casey Kitty Sue. Talk about government red tape... You'd think they would be more accommodating with widows and families trying to make claims. Are you working with the local Vet's administration? I know they have really helped many around here. They know the ropes and how to get things done through the fastest route.
Glad you are a little better Plantlady. It's scary when it goes to your lungs. Sending prayers you are back 100% soon!
I spoke too soon last post. Since last week we've had three snow storms! The past few days have been bitterly cold too. That's the worst part. Fortunately it's warming up today and should last a while.
That crock pot lasagna sounds sooo good Sue! I thought I was getting sick the other day. Some of it (aches & pains) is probably related to gluten though. Everywhere I go is so dry from the heat running so much. My parent's house is almost unbearable!!! I cracked open my living room door a little last weekend just to get some fresh air in here. I can't wait to be able to open windows!
Hope all is well with all others checking in. Wishing all of you good weather & good health!

Wow, Kona, I feel so sad for all of you who are having to deal with so much snow this winter. We've probably had a total of 10-12 inches over the whole winter, 1-3 inches at a time. It is supposed to get up to 70 degrees Wed. and Thurs. but with that will come and possible storms. I'm all better now, thanks! Starting to work on spring cleaning and trying to reorganize. I'm slow so it will take me awhile, but by golly I'm going to get 'er done! Hope everyone is well and finding a little time to do what they enjoy.

Sar, I hope everything gets straightened out soon with that paperwork and your driveway gets done. We've been having warmer weather and the snow is melting! Tomorrow will be warm with , so more snow will go. We were out for a drive yesterday, visited an old friend of Billy's, then stopped in to a restaurant and had a nice dinner. With all the mild weather river watches are on. They are afraid there will be worse flooding this year than there was last year, and last year was very bad! We live up on a hill so we never have to worry about flooding affecting our place. But those along the two rivers in my area and the big river that goes through the city are worried and getting prepared. I hope everyone is well now and enjoying the day.

Glad you had a nice day out with Billy, Csue.
I ending up and had lunch with a friend yesterday after it was for sure the drive would not be worked on.
the propane guy came yesterday, 500.00 about every 5-6 weeks.. much more expensive then when I just ran space heaters, but it is more convenient. so it is a trade off, I guess.
waiting for friend to get off work to measur for 2x4s to work on the shed. and get cats moved when weather is finally warmer.
tomorrow is vets taking 3 kitties that need to be seen.
I have some laundry to do, but just am really dragging today... too much in too short of time tends to overwhelm me some times.
hope you all have a great day.

SAR, you sure have a lot of projects going. Hope the nicer weather will help get them done. CSue, hope you don't get too much flooding. Boy, Nebraska is really suffering with the flooding. It's terrible. Sadly a lot of that water will work its way to the Mississippi and could eventually cause more flooding here. My friend Nettie who used to live in this apartment has moved back to housing (in another complex) because her income wasn't covering the cost of where she was staying. She's going to be 90 years old in May! We still talk on the phone 3 or 4 times a week and since she will be closer I will be able to visit her more. Had lunch with Rob today, first time in quite awhile. Ran into a reporter from the tv station where Randy works there. In the meantime, working with a former law enforcement officer who is now working for the area newspaper to investigate Ryan's murder. We are working with detectives and sharing information. They told him I am the best detective on Ryan's case these days. LOL He and a reporter friend of mine plan to do a big piece on Ryan's case, maybe by mid-May. Finally....seeing crocuses and daffodils and birds are chirping and building nests. Spring is right around the corner and it will be in the 60's by this weekend!

Happy first day of spring! It's finally here....
SAR, hope you aren't overdoing again!
Areas near the Mississippi River are starting to flood here as all that water from Nebraska, Iowa, etc. and melting snow from the northern states heads this way. The Ohio River was already very high it could get serious as it and the Mississippi converge.
Not sure exactly why but having sad feelings, depression, like something worse is coming.
And now my toilet is loose and moves back and forth when I sit on it so need to call maintenance in the morning. It's a little disconcerting to be swaying while taking a leak!
Hope everyone is well.
