Woke to a coating of snow with those huge, wet flakes falling, but it is all melted off now. I made an order of canned cat food from WM and waiting for them to call so I can pick them up but so far nothing I called 3 times and on hold till I hag up and call later . I need a few things but do not want to make 2 trips I'm trying to stock up as I was using up my stocks all summer and now I need to restore for the winter. I wish I could finish up the yard and put the mowers away they are in under the carport but I will not start them up in this cold, Dan blew up an engine starting the tractor when it was too cold. plus the yard is a mud mess.. deer prints everywhere and you can see have they have slipped in the mud. I have everything to make a small thanksgiving meal, but no turkey so that was what I was going to pick up a pre cooked /sliced turkey breast from Kentucky Bourbon company I get their hams for the holidays. I'll make a dessert and a few sides that will feed me for several meals. prayers for all here

Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S. friends!
Billy was laid off work for the season last Thursday. We had a snowstorm last Friday. The winds weren't so bad so the power stayed on. We got plowed out on Saturday. The wreath shop was done last Monday but I laid myself off last Wednesday. lol The fir tips were frozen and cold and it was too hard on my hands.
We have some deer coming into the yard, they are eating the pumpkin we had out for Halloween. We have another one on the deck, so we are going to put it out where the other one is, past Fred's wireless fence boundary. It's very cold here today, will be another cold night. But it's nice and warm in the house. We have the heat pump and 2 electric infrared heaters for back up. They are great to run off the generator if the power goes out.
I have a meat load in the oven so I have to go and check on it.
I'm glad to hear you are all well. Thinking of you, Sar, on another first holiday without Dan.

thanks Csue.... bet your hands are still healing, Will Billy be ok being laid off? or is it temporary?
I ate early and now binge watching Star Trek. I was eating, started crying .. then got it out of my system and am ok.. I guess that is how it is, never know what will bring on the tears.... so I learned long ago to not fight them, but let them fall, then keep on keeping on....

Hope you have all been having a pleasant Thanksgiving today. Just a quiet day for me since both boys had to work. We will get together sometime this weekend, depending on which day Robert has off. It warmed up a little here, SAR, to the 50's during the day but colder weather is coming after the weekend. Hope you are all prepared for the colder weather since it's usually worse for you there. to all and sending best wishes!

Hi all!
Sorry I was MIA yesterday. We had a quiet day as well. I cooked for the two of us. Still a lot of work though! (My sis had the rest of the family at her house) I sat down to post a quick hello while cooking but something took me away... MIL & a SIL stopped by for a visit later in the day. That was nice.
We had record cold yesterday and only in the 20’s today. Spent most of today helping out my mom & dad. Will be back again tomorrow. He is almost blind and she needs a “shadow” while moving around. They have no help on Holidays and weekends so we step in. They are determined to stay in their home. So far we all feel it is safe but I worry all of the time!
Hope all of you enjoy the rest of the weekend.
