Yes, hard to believe it's October already! It's still hot here....in the 80's all week, so STILL running my air conditioner. Didn't know you had been dealing with space heaters all this time, SAR. It will be much easier with a furnace, I'm sure. Haven't talked to housing yet but I see that they called this morning while I was out. Hoping to know something soon and that they have something that will work for me....before the weather gets bad. Got some of my containers that Randy was saving for me and starting to collect boxes and do some sorting and cleaning as I wait to hear. Lifting things is really rough on my back so this could get rough. Don't know if I mentioned it, but I showed the maintenance guys places on the floor where the tiles are starting to buckle up from the moisture under the foundation. Then of course I have to worry about mold..... No on the coffee, but a nice cup of green does. ;)

PL, the last 3 homes we lived in had no furnace.. we have always used wood burning inserts or 99% efficient propane heaters. they are beautiful, look like wood burning fireplaces and hs fans that push the warm air around and O2 senseors.. but it will be nice to see how this furnace keeps it warm in here... it is high end and 96 % efficient. so if it is not freezing might still just use the space heaters, but it will be nice to have the furnace.
hope you get word soon and get moved and settle before it gets nasty out ooops Furnace guy is here.

Hello All!
I had to get the laptop out so thought I'd stop in. Glad to hear you had a good time at the winery with your friends Sue! I've been seeing those fireplace things in sale flyers and on QVC (I think) the other night. I'm pretty sure they are electric though. My MIL has one. It's like a space heater that looks like a fire is burning. Nice.
Hope you get word soon about a new (clean air) place waiting for you plantlady. Please don't even try to lift anything heavy! I'm sure your boys will help, and I'm sure they don't want to see you get hurt!!!
It's been misting and raining here for days... I'm still waiting for that nice cool dry air to settle in. The trees are starting to turn but not a lot of color yet. I think the maple leaves are just shriveling up from lack of sunlight! We have not needed heat yet and haven't run any a/c for close to a month so that's good. The electric bill went way down. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance tomorrow and through next week. I really want to open some doors and windows again.
I have to run for now. I have some medical stuff to do for my Mom. I thought I lost a "note" with all of her medical p/w's on it. I couldn't find it on my phone. I know I have all of it written down "somewhere" but didn't even want to think about looking for it now... Anyway I was able to find it on the laptop. Seems it was on the phone too. I did an update last night an now the search feature is not finding it. I hate doing updates but lately I've been trying to keep up with them. Look where that got me! Can't wait to see what else it screwed up. NOT!
Take care all!

Some days I don;t know how I do what I do. I got up and took care of the barn babies, then house kitties, then into the garage.. and found one of the bottle fed babies from 12 yrs ago, passed away. Sweet Little Emily died overnight and her sissy Angie was watching over her until I found her... I let all the garage cats see that she was gone, I do this for all the ones that live in a group. I have seen first hand the anguish of one of their siblings looking for them when they are gone. this way I feel in my they understand death and know as much as they can, that one of their own is gone. Angie put her head on her as I was in the process of removing her... I had to take care of it, this was always Dan's job.. but I buried her, .. hard to do with tears blinding you, and I tried 6 places before I could get a hole dug. SO.. I allowed the tears to flow and then I just kept on with daily chores... Sometimes I wonder if loving them is worth it when it hurts your so much saying good bye to them..but then I remember all the purrs, the head butts, the silly antics.. and my swells again with love.. so yes... yes it is worth it.....so worth it. Little Emily

So sorry for the loss of Little Emily. (((Hugs)))
We are starting to get some color here. Leaves were gently falling today. It went up into the 80’s though! Had to put the AC on. Looks like the 30’s are in the 10 day forecast. That’s New England for you.
I was so glad the Red Sox finished off the Yankees last night!! Still have to get through Houston before we can go to the World Series. I sure hope the take it all. They played so well this year and had the most wins of everyone.
Hope all is well with everyone. My phone just shrunk all of the text here so I’ll say bye now!

Hello everyone! I haven't been here for awhile. I've been busy. Sar, so sorry about the kitty. I used to hate it when we would lose one. But my daughter loved having them around so we usually had quite a few. After she moved out we were down to 2 males left. We tried to make them be house cats but they loved going outside. One never came in one night, then a week or so later the other was gone too. So I said no more cats, it's too hard losing them. I don't know how you do it, Sar. Fred is enough of a handful for me. lol At least he stays in the yard with his collar and wireless fence. Sar, there isn't much we have to do to get ready for winter. We did buy a new generator with electric start. That way Billy doesn't have to pull on a cord. He's still not supposed to be lifting anything heavy or pulling on anything. He's been good, feeling great. He has to go for another scan to check on his but he put it off until November when he will be done work. He hates to miss a day of work. We had the heat pump fixed last spring so hopefully it works muchbetter this winter. I'll be going back to work at the wreath shop on Oct. 24. I hope I can do better this year. I've been practicing making the wreaths in my mind, so I think I can do better. I'm not going to be fussy and try to make them look perfect his year. lol Hi Kona, I hope all is well with you Mom. PL, I hope you get moved to a nice place soon!

I gpt the pumpkins and fall decorations and scarcrows out will decorate later. it is so had to lose any of them but some, that you raised with bottles or saved after them mama was killed and they adopt you as their mamma.. those are especially hard to lose. but you just keep on doing until you can't as D0velady always said.. love you all.....you are my family.......

SAR, so sad about little Emily. I hope she is at peace now by Dan's side. I think you won't get the same pleasure (warm feeling) from the furnace but it will be easier for you to deal with. Kona hope you are starting to enjoy the fall colors. Summer finally ended today with only a high of 60 and a low in the upper 30's. I had my a/c on all day yesterday. CSue, glad Billy is doing okay and that you are ready for winter. Hope your fingers are up to making the wreathes! Dovelady....it's been several years since she left us, hasn't it? As far as moving, still don't know when or where. One of the maintenance guys told me that it probably won't be until after the HUD inspection on Oct. 18 before I can move. My next door neighbor came out and talked to me a couple of days ago, all friendly, with a burning cigarette in her hand and said she had almost quit smoking. (like I haven't heard that before). We discussed that and the dryer fumes and she actually apologized, but today I woke up from my nap with the apt. reeking of Gain so as usual methinks her words are not sincere. I've been collecting boxes and packing little by little as I am able to but still have a lot to do. Someone younger could probably do it all in a few hours, but I'm sorting, tossing some things out, donating items, and trying to keep organized so I can find things when I move. Had to cancel a doctor appointment yesterday because my car wouldn't start. My insurance company sent someone to jump start it and I drove to where I bought the battery in January. They replaced the battery and did an electronic analysis to make sure it wasn't the alternator or something else, but turns out it was just a bad battery so they replaced it for free. I'm just glad it wasn't on a day that I needed to pick up Hannah for school or something. Please cross your fingers and that they give me a better place with a better neighbor this time!

SAR, I meant that it is a different kind of warmth, not like the warm glow and heat of a fire you can sit near. I miss having a woodburner for that reason, but that is a lot harder to regulate than a furnace with a thermostat.
Went to the chiro this morning and took a few things to donate to a thrift store that raises money to help people get dental work. Then picked up more boxes. My living room is a mess! Hope I can get enough sorting and packing done before it comes down to the wire....and have someplace to put it all!
Hope you and GG have a good visit!
