Hello Everyone,
It's the last issue of spring cleaning tips for the week.
Let's start off with the best way to spring clean your windows.
Clean windows with a rag and soapy water, and then dry them with another rag. You can also go to an auto-parts store and buy a windshield squeegee, which cleans very well.

Hint 1: Focus on your fridge.
You probably wipe down your fridge's interior shelving on the regular already, but don't forget about the rest. Pop out the door shelves and bins, and wash in warm, soapy water to get rid of food bacteria and spillage.

Hint 2: Don't throw away your old kitchen apron...there is a awesome use for it
Create storage compartments on your old apron to store rags, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and air fresheners so they are all at arms length. Simply turn up the bottom 12 to 18 inches of a long apron. Determine pocket widths by using the size of your cleaning supplies as guides. Stitch vertically using a sewing machine

Hint 1:
Use cold water whenever possible. This uses up a lot less energy, which will cut back on your costs, and it will help to preserve the colors in your clothing. Warm water causes colors to bleed, whereas cold water minimizes this impact.
Additionally, cold water is much gentler to delicate fabrics. You can make your clothes last years longer this way.

Hint 2: Laundry...laundry...laundry
If it isnt dirty, dont clean it!
We are trained to wash our clothing after every wear, but a lot of clothes simply are not dirty after you wear them once. If it still smells fine and looks great, why wash it? Wear it again. If you want, you can spritz a little vinegar on and then hang it outside on the clothes line to air out for a bit. This saves time and energy and money.

Hey Everyone,
The typical American home has 40 electronics powered up at any given moment -- TV, cell phone chargers, blenders, etc. What people don't realize is they are using electricity even when they're powered off.
U.S. households spend as much as $100 per year powering these "vampire" electronics.
Simple fix: Plug your devices into power strips and switch them off at once at the end of the day.

Hint 1: Minimize using major appliances between the hours of 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Minimize indoor heat: run the dryer and dishwasher at night on hot days and let your dishes air dry. Avoid heat-generating incandescent lighting and use a microwave, toaster oven or outdoor grill instead of the oven. It's best to avoid the use of major appliances between 2 and 8 p.m.

Hint 2: Keep refreshed with yummy smoothies during the hot summer months!
Fruit smoothies are a great way to get your five-a-day and keep refreshed throughout the summer, but watch out for smoothies made with frozen yoghurts or ice cream as they can be extremely calorific.
A healthy smoothie should be made with fruit, juice, low fat-yoghurt and ice. Use any fruit you might have or have kept in the freezer, and throw it all in a blender to make a perfect summer drink.

Dear Friends,
This week our focus has been on our master bedrooms. As a result we are also putting an extra emphasis on relationships. How many fights have you had because to the chaos in your home. I don't care about whose responsibility it was to clean it or who collected all the clutter. The bottom line is clutter and chaos cause unrest in your home. This is one of the main reasons that I want you to grab this bull by the horns and toss the clutter outside your door. I want this pain and strife to end in your life and for you to find the peace that I have promised. I also want you to quit beating yourself up over not having the perfect marriage or home. There are times when it is not your fault. Now listen to me very closely. I was raised in a church that believed that it was an unforgivable sin to divorce and regardless of the biblical reasons for divorce, I would never be able to remarry. So I went into my first marriage vowing to never divorce. My determination to stick it out to the end almost resulted in my death. The difficulties in that marriage I blamed all on me, because of my lack of house keeping skills. It was only after I started getting organized that I began to actually see the forest for what it really was. I had been stumbling blindly through this marriage thinking that every problem that arose was a result of my mess. Then Pam and Peggy showed me the light. I started to use their system and my home came together. The most interesting part in finding this system was after my house was clean and orderly, I still had problems in my marriage. This is the part I want you to hear. Your self-blame and the conflicts hide the real problem. I have told you many times, that I want you to clean the house for you, not for your husband or your children, but for you and your joy. When you get your home in order, you will be better able to see the problems, because you will no longer have the clutter to cloud your eyes from the truth. This is exactly what happened to me in my first marriage. He was not a happy person. I thought that I could make him happy "if only" I did this or that. The truth was I couldn't do anything to change his personality. He was just a grim person who liked making others feel bad. It was only after my home was clean and orderly that I could see that I didn't make him that way. It didn't matter whether our home was clean and tidy; he was going to find something wrong and did. Let me warn you that after the house had no problems, he had to start attacking me to find ways to hurt me. The abuse got worse. This is all because the clutter was a camouflage for the real problems. It was much easier to fight over the hot spots or undone laundry than to tackle the problem of no love in a marriage. This is a very tough issue and we have been sidestepping it for a long time. One of our members sent me a testimonial that thanks us for helping her to find the real problems in her marriage. After the clutter was gone, the main problem could be seen. I want for you what I have peace. It came with getting rid of my clutter, so that I could see the true me and FLY. Sometimes we have to FLY Solo for a while. Now I am not advocating divorce. I just want you to get your home clean so that you can address the real problems and not stick your head in the sand and blame yourself. Are you ready to FLY? FlyLady

To freshen up the exterior of your home, dont spend a fortune at the local nursery. Instead ask family and friends for trimmings of their plants. Many perennial plants and bulbs can easily be divided and shared. Transplant the ones you like best into your own yard.

Hint 1: Grow your own herbs! It will save you money and it tastes better than buying from your local grocery store
Herbs can easily be grown indoors on a small windowsill or outside in pots or gardens.
They will help you save on buying expensive grocery store jars of seasonings, will taste fresher, and can be easily dried and stored.

Hint 2: Generic vs Name Brand - Go with generic when you can!
There are great savings to be had with certain generic brands in every supermarket.
Often the generic options are just as good, if not better, than some of their pricier brand name counterparts.
In fact, many store or "private label" brands are manufactured by the same companies that make the name brands.

Use kitchen drawer dividers in your bathroom.
You know, those same things you use for silverware and other odds and ends. Those handy dividers can be perfect for storing makeup, toothbrushes, floss containers, and other small items in your bathroom drawers.
As in the kitchen, they serve the additional function of protecting your drawers from moisture.

Hint 1: Dedicate 20 Minutes a Day Every Day
You don’t need to set aside 20 hours one day to get things in order. You only need 20 minutes every day.
Focus on tackling clutter in just one room. You might only pare down a single drawer or shelf, but “it will make you feel accomplished at the end of the day, and at the end of a week, you will see how much you can declutter.”

September 11, 2018 Hello Everyone, Flashlight Dept Shine shoes and plants with bananas. peels contain oil and potassium, key ingredients in store-bought shoe polish. Wipe shoes with the inside of the peel (discard the stringy parts of the peel first). Then buff with a clean cloth. You also can use the peels to clean the dust and debris from leafy houseplants. September 19, 2018 Hey Everyone! Summer EventApple cider vinegar to wash fruits and vegetables? Say what???
Pesticide residue on fruits and vegetables can be a concern for many people.
That's why some people like to wash their fruits and vegetables in apple cider vinegar. The hope is that it'll remove more of the chemical residues than water alone.
Although it's not entirely clear if it will remove more pesticides than simply washing with water, it may help kill any dangerous bacteria on food.
For example, washing foods in vinegar has been shown to remove dangerous bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella.

Hint 1: As a Deodorizer Apple cider vinegar is known to have antibacterial properties.
Because of this, it's often claimed that apple cider vinegar can eliminate bad smells.
There isn't any research to back up these claims, but you can try it out by mixing apple cider vinegar with water to make a deodorizing spray.
This makes a natural alternative to odor neutralizers.
You can also mix it with water and Epsom salts to make a foot soak, like this. This may help get rid of unwanted foot odor by killing off odor-causing bacteria.
** ABSOLUTELY ** POSITIVELY ** NEVER ** streak your glass, windows or mirrors AGAIN.
Hint 2: To Make an All-Purpose Cleaner Apple cider vinegar is often a popular choice for a natural alternative to commercial cleaning agents. This is because of its antibacterial properties.
Mix 1 cup of water with half a cup of apple cider vinegar, and you'll have a natural all-purpose cleaner.
However, it's worth noting that although vinegars such as apple cider vinegar can kill some bacteria, they aren't as effective at killing harmful bacteria as commercial cleaning agents.

Do you clean your toothbrush?
To have really clean teeth, it's worth considering how clean your toothbrush is.
Given that apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties, you can use it as a homemade cleaner for your toothbrush.
To make your own toothbrush cleaner, mix half a cup of water with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 teaspoons of baking soda and mix well. Leave the head of your toothbrush in the mix for 30 minutes.
Make sure you rinse your brush well before you use it, as the acidity of undiluted vinegar could damage your teeth.

What can you get for 99 cents? A whole boatload of great stuff WELL BELOW COST! Hint 1: To Trap Fruit Flies - Bye Bye Pesky Fly Fruit flies can be a pest.
Interestingly, it's really easy to use apple cider vinegar to make a cheap fruit fly trap.
Simply pour some apple cider vinegar into a cup, add a few drops of dish soap (so that any trapped flies sink) and you're good to go.
This USB DRIVE has a secret - there's a tiny microphone hidden inside of it.
Hint 2: Apple Cider Vinegar As a Mouth Wash? Apple cider vinegar is often said to be a useful alternative to commercial mouthwashes.
Its antibacterial properties may help with bad breath, although there aren't any studies examining how effective it is.
If you try this, make sure you dilute it well with water (the usual amount is 1 tablespoon for every cup of water), as the acidity of the vinegar could damage your teeth).

October 06, 2018 Hey Everyone! 10dollarsFreezer trick: freeze things flat and stack them. Whether it's soups, stews, or ground meat, the flatter and wider you can get them, the faster they'll freeze and defrost, which not only makes you more efficient, it also improves the quality of the food (the longer something takes to freeze, the more cellular damage it will suffer). When freezing raw meat, soups, and stews, if you have a vacuum sealer, use it! Otherwise, place foods in heavy-duty freezer bags, squeeze out all the air, lay the bag flat, and use your hands to work the contents into as flat and even a shape as possible. When freezing vegetables, cut them into pieces 1-inch or less and blanch any green vegetables. Place them on a large plate or sheet tray spaced apart from each other and freeze them solid before transferring to a plastic freezer bag and storing flat. Handy Hints Holly Email your favorite hints Visit the NEW and IMPROVED archives Hint 1: Ginger can be tricky to peel with all its bumps and irregularities. Use leftover and coffee grounds to acidify the soil of acid-loving plants such as azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, gardenias and even blueberries. A light sprinkling of about one-quarter of an inch applied once a month will keep the pH of the soil on the acidic side. Turn Your Backyard into a Tropical Paradise! Get the Solar-Powered Torches Before They're Gone Hint 2: The quickest way in the world to dry herbs: just lay a sheet of newspaper on the seat of your car, arrange the herbs in a single layer, then roll up the windows and close the doors. Your herbs will be quickly dried to perfection. What's more, your car will smell great.

Dear Friends, I have always said that your shoes tell your head that it is time to get up and do something. Those shoes or shall I say the lack of them keeps us tethered to the ground. Lace up those shoes and watch your wings start sprouting. When my lace-up shoes are on my feet, I feel empowered. "Not having on my shoes" is no longer an excuse to put off something that needs doing. Where are your shoes? We get asked all the time, "Do they have to be lace-up shoes?" The reason we want your shoes to lace-up; is that lace-up shoes are harder to get off. When you have been barefoot as long as I was; I hated shoes and unconsciously I would kick them off. This is why I ask you, "Where are your shoes?" When I was developing my habit of wearing shoes I would have an alarm set to remind me to look at my feet and go searching for my shoes. Then I realized that if I tied them to my feet, that they were harder to get off and I didn't have to look for my shoes any more. When the alarm would go off I would look at my feet and celebrate! I have my shoes on!! Yippee!!! Go Me!!! I want you to look at our little acronym SHE (Sidetracked Home Executive). All it takes to get a SHE FLYing is to put her SHOEs ON. If you are still shaking your head NO at me then I want you to prove me wrong!! Give wearing shoes an honest try and watch your world change. If your shoes hurt your feet; you need new ones. You are worth it. You would not allow your children to go without the proper shoes. As we say, "SHOEs are a tool!" Our guys will do a job just to get a new tool. We have to change the way we think about ourselves. We have to treat ourselves as well as we treat others. Our shoes are tools that help us to take care of the world. Go get your foot measured. We all think our feet are smaller than they really are. Try on shoes till you find a pair that makes you feel like you are walking on clouds. Then when buy them; write the date on the tongue of your shoe; because after about three or four months of wearing them every day you are going to need a new pair. You won't think that you will, but you will start to notice little aches and pains in your legs, feet, shins, hips and lower back. This is a sign that your shoe shock absorption has broken down and your joints are absorbing the impact of each step you take. Do you want to feel better; a little more pep in your step? Well put on your shoes and quit rebelling against a tried and true method that will get you FLYing!!! FlyLady
