Yep, things are warmin' up. Working little by little on my container garden and pleased that (so far) it's doing well. I have a number of volunteer morning glory plants in two containers so yesterday I fashioned something for them to climb on out of tomato stakes and jute twine as a way to help shade my front porch in the hot sunny afternoons.
Glad you got out with friends over the weekend, SAR. Sunday, Randy came over to fix the slide out tray on my computer desk then we went out and had lunch and a very pleasant visit. Had an eye doc appointment (to schedule eyelid surgery) Monday, chiro Tues., medical doctor today and chiro tomorrow. I'll be glad to have Friday off from appointments!
Hope everyone is enjoying these pleasant summer days!

glad you are getting things done, PL, and I am glad I do not have dr appts.. the times will come soon enough! I keep my skin cancer dr and my eye dr appts.. always, but the rest is only if I think I am dying! lol
some nights I'm in pain but I do not want to take pills, maybe at 75 I'll re think taking pills for pain.
I'm working in garage again, an un ending task before the storms hit later today!
enjoy the warmth the cold is coming back for a few days, but I love the cooler temps.

SAR, like you, I don't like to take pills. I mostly do ice packs, heating pads, hot water bottles, massage, stretching, etc. to deal with my pain. The only pain reliever I'm allowed to take is Tylenol because of my kidney issue, but I do everything I can to avoid using it.
It's been cool and drizzly this morning. Enjoying it while it lasts because after this it's going to start heating up.
Had a cute little surprise this morning. When I went outside this morning, I found that someone had put a cute little garden gnome (maybe 2 1/2 or 3 inches tall) next to my rosemary plant in the container by my door. No clue who did it! My surprise yesterday was that Robert came by with a 12 pound box of peaches he got for $2 (!) so I bagged up peaches and took some to four different neighbors (who wanted them) and kept just a few for myself. Two of them plan to make peach pies. Yum!
Hope you've all had a good weekend!

how nice about the surprise gnome, PL! and oh the peaches.. YUM!!! I stayed home all week end and worked in the house and yard,. I am making a klittle wine alcove in the lower level family room... I have so many bottles of wine, when I got pick grapes they pay us in wine!.. I don;t mins a glass now and then, but I really am not much into drinking, not worth the head ach I get. but lots of friends drink wine and it is cool down there, so hopefully I'll have a very cozy little alcove and maybe even a small floor!!! heck, I might never leave home! lol.. but then I'll never meet anyone!.. I do like people but I also like to stay in my own home! have a great week, everyone.

Yep, it's heating up... Only about 90 here today but Sunday and Monday it will be in the mid 90's with heat indexes over 100. Yuck. So glad I have my water hose now so I don't have to carry gallon after gallon of water outside every day. Seeing lots of around town and online today. It's also President Trump's birthday.
Crazy week here with chiro and PT appointments, Robert's birthday yesterday, my phone and internet services being out for 24 hours, a neighbor accidentally locking herself out of her apartment (I had to use my cell to call maintenance for her since my phone and internet were out), a peeping Tom incident at another neighbor's and a cell phone discovered by the mowing contractor way back in my back yard area. I charged up the phone and took it to the police as there should have been no reason for anyone being back there! Waiting to hear if they identified the owner.
In the meantime, picking beautiful kale, lettuce, and dill from my container garden, pole beans and morning glories climbing the supports I made, peas filling out, and lots of little tomatoes growing, etc. Hope you all keep cool this weekend but get to do something enjoyable!

The high heat and humidity is going to be here for the next week or more as well so my tomato plants won't be setting any new fruit for awhile. Not my favorite kind of weather. SAR, you should still be able to plant pole beans, I would think. They do grow quickly. Or plant bush beans. No one to share Father's Day here either. I'm kind of jealous of those who have or have had wonderful fathers because I didn't have a good one.
Did dishes, stripped my bed, watered my outside plants and now headed off for a shower, a chiro visit, and hopefully to the grocery store if my back, leg and foot hold up for awhile. Keep cool and hydrated, everyone!

So far it hasn't got as hot as they predicted here because it's been partly cloudy, but we complain about these hot spells every year, don't we? It's still over 90, which is great for those who have pools or beaches to go to but not so good for tomato plants as they won't set fruit when it's this hot. So glad I have a working air conditioner! Hope you do too.
Watered, picked peas and kale and poured a bottle of cayenne pepper seeds down a mole hole with a stream of water from my hose this morning. Darn things are driving me nuts this year. That usually works, so crossing my fingers.
Sending good thoughts to everyone. Have a good weekend!
