PL, nothing hurts like when your muscles hurt, they take so long to repair and heal.
no.. floors are not done, only the dining room, they are here today hoping to get kitchen and half bath and trim done, then Sat the frt room, then we decided to do last 2 bedrooms upstairs... again, running into un anticipated issues, but they are great at problem solving and fixing said issues....and I know they are done right.. I am learning patience, again in my life.. remember I am not a patient person, but I'd rather be done right than fast!.
and if they can get all floors done... then I will work on walls through out the summer..... and have ceilings painted ...when weather breaks we have to address the den roof leaking.. so I've pretty much decided to stay here and enjoy the house as long as I can.
hope everyone is enjoying the nice tease of spring, my day lillies are poking up and crocus tops and wild ginger.. spring is coming... then sat it is to be 20!
love you all!

You sure do always have a lot going on with that house, SAR! Do you think you will ever be satisfied? ;) If you are like me, you are always trying to think of ways to improve or change everything.
Most of the time we can get muscles working better and I sure have to work on mine a lot. My problem is the osteoarthritis and damaged ACL in that knee from 2006 when Hannah caused me to fall. At least I kept her from being hurt but permanently damaged my knee in the process. That stresses the muscles all connecting to it. Very frustrating and painful sometimes but I do the best I can.
Hope everyone is having a good week with fair weather. It's fairly warm here but raining today.

PL I'vernot not done a whole lot since when Dan got sick, about 15 yrs ago we put a lot of money into infrastructure things.. this is more cosmetic, just updates.. then I will hopefully replace 30 yr old appliances and I am done for this life.. (unless I decide to get 30 yr old windows replaced)
this should have been easy today, but ran into more issues not seen till they moved frig and stove.. at least it will be fixed right,.

The thing about a house is that there is always something else to do, to fix, to update. We have our share here, as well. I did get a handrail on the basement stairs. YAY! Now, if I could just have my laundry room moved from basement to main floor! LOL!
Maybe when warm weather comes along AND STAYS the pain level will go down? I use a long stick for a walking stick when Sadie and I walk in the backyard toward and after dark. She has dug so many holes in the yard and I can't always spot them in the dark. I don't want to fall and break myself!
Stay well, everyone, and on top of your game!

Sadly no, GG, weather doesn't make a difference. It's when I am on it too long or re-injure it like I did three weeks ago. That ACL ligament in the back of my knee is stressed right now so I am having to use a cane. Add to that all the damage to my foot and hip on that side and the fact that they took the vein out of that leg for the surgery. It really stinks.
SAR, I'm sure those cosmetic changes will brighten your days a bit, especially as spring approaches. I miss those days of home ownership where we could change and remodel to our hearts' content. I'm limited here since it's not my property plus not able to do a lot, of course, but what can I do? I enjoy seeing your progress.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Spring is around the corner.

It's only in the 40's here today but will be in the 60's and 70's the next three days before dipping again. Look forward to your photos, SAR.
I think at least four of us here on IC will be in the path of the solar eclipse in April. If you go to this site, you can look up your town and see how long it will last where you are. We're getting 4 minutes and 8 seconds here, which I think is a little shorter than what we got in 2017.

got corn chowder going.. and an apple crisp.

Hope things are coming along with your remodeling/reorganizing, SAR. Hopefully in a couple of weeks things will be much farther along.
We didn't get hail, strong storms or tornadoes like they predicted were possible, but two days of these ferocious winds....UGH. I think it's the same system that is fueling those horrible wildfires in Oklahoma and Texas. We do have burn bans around here because of it as well.
Crocuses and daffodils are blooming here, a welcome sight! It was almost 80 degrees yesterday but only 40 degrees right now. Thankfully it will be warming back up again by the weekend.
Using the cane less and feeling better so hopefully I will be in some kind of shape to do my outside plants soon.
to all who stop by.

I have checked out the eclipse for our area. SAR, you will be right in the thick of it!!! We are south of Youngstown, so it will not be the same. But if there is no cloud cover, we will get to experience it. We will get what we get, I guess.
I wish I had your energy, SAR. You are always moving! Reading, writing, crocheting, working puzzles. Hmmm. I need to change things up a bit. LOL. Sadie does get me up and moving out in the yard, and sometimes even in the house. She will be spayed next Wednesday. The vet said she will maybe calm down a little. Others have said she will calm down a lot. That remains to be seen.
The sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful day. I'll take it! I hope it's a lovely day where you are!
Take care!

the installers have not been here since Sunday, (a break I knew was coming cause they had already made appts for this week, before they fit me in... so I have been emptying the things I packed, and getting rid of anything I no longer want/need/use/want. and I'm determined to not get cluttered like the last 10 yrs with Dan sick, and no time, and just stashing stuff. it is slowly but nicely shaping up, I syill can not finish some things cause they have to move things again to finish trim... so thn I want to get somonre here to paint... and I will be getting the last 2 bedrooms done hopefully this coming week, just in time for me to work outside and lighten the load there, too. I can't wait to show you before and after pics and I want to be done before the eclipse.... GG, I'm getting spare rooms done with queen beds, and the back room with craftmatic, and I have a sofa bed, in the living room and a queen in family room.... cause I was thinking maybe you, and or heather, or anyone I know back there, might want to come for the day or overnight we can do a picnic thing.. and yes we are right in the path and they say almost 4 minutes in totality. I will get rid of some of the beds after. my daffies and crocus are up too, PL.. now for horrible news... my GF Fran who just lost her only daughter around Thanksgiving.... went Tues and re wrote her will and financial stuff name her nephew Casey as Beny.... But....... at 3 am Wed. morning when the sever weather went through, lightening struck Caseys garage and home, he got the family out.... but sadly lost his life when he ran to the back barn to release animals...(they think).. needless to say, Fran is totally devastated, they lost everything but the PJs they had on... prayers for Fran and her family would be appreciated...

I've talked to her today, she is still trying to help, but having her own emotions is not helping... I have told her I can help with feeding the animals that are alive, and when they get into a place (staying with family for now) I can pretty much get anything they need from my own preps,,,I still have no words of my own, but the Lord seems to be giving me the words she needs to hear...
BTW Fire.... has always been my worst fear....I'm so ultra careful about wires, cords, rags, etc... but here.. this was an act of God, not much you can say...
