Sounds like you've been making progress, SAR, but we know that the decent weather is going to leave us before long so I guess we can't expect to get it ALL done. :( I heard about the voting there. It's already like that here and it makes me sick, but I guess that's a topic to discuss in a different place.
I was supposed to have eyelid surgery today, but I cancelled (postponed) it because of my back pain and stomach issues. Hope I can get better enough to re-schedule it in the next few months. Robert came by yesterday to help me cover the outside of my window a/c but with wind gusts up to 35 mph it was just too windy. Watered what plants I have left and harvested dill yesterday and then got a visit from a neighbor who badly needs support and prayer because of so many health issues among several of her family members. Please keep her in your prayers.
Now off to see my primary care doctor and chiro..... Hope everyone is having a productive and peaceful day.

prayers for your neighbor, PL... sorry you had to postpone the eye lid surgery...
I still have to cover my whole house AC and still have outside stuff to finish up, I need to burn yet again,l but the winds are too strong, so I still have hoses hooked up till I get the leaves and limbs burned. it does not look like it but I am making progress de cluttering and donating and discarding... who would have thought the once OCD about neat and tidy could be still working on it almost 6 yrs after he passed... (I guess because for about 5 yrs before we knew what was wrong the clutter started.. I had to have priorities and "stuff" just got moved to totes to g\deal with later. well, now is later!
I may go to the Legion on Sat to the program then help serve the vets a thank you dinner. Vets eat free, public is only 7.00
have a good day, everyone~
have a great day.

Sounds overwhelming, SAR, but given that we spent so many years accumulating things, it's just something that will take time. I have been trying to downsize for at least 10 years and progress is slow but I persist. I hope the Veterans Dinner went well was enjoyable for everyone and that you had good attendance.
Had a chiro appointment yesterday and Robert is coming to help me cover the a/c before it gets any colder today. Supposed to get up to 65 degrees today so should be a good day to get it done.
Waving to all who pop in. Don't be strangers!

Hi, everyone. The husky is still with us. Ashley thinks she can get him through to spring, maybe even his next birthday in August. He faked me out today. The boy has been home with a fever for two days. They went to the ER during the night Sunday. Rapid test said no strep, we are waiting for the other results. So I have spent the past two days at their house looking after the boy and the dogs and the kitties. That wouldn't get up and move for me at all unless I helped lift him to his feet. Then he would flop back down again. Ashley came through the door. I told her how the day went. She said, "Zeus, do you want out?" He was on his feet pronto. "You just have to speak the right language," she said. Today I had to take the man to have a CT scan of his lungs. He says it's just a regular annual thing they do. I wonder if it's something more than that. He's had an awful cough for over a month. A couple of years ago he was coming up through the yard smoking. He heard someone speak to him, "If you don't stop smoking you are going to die." He was alone, by the way, immediately walked to the garbage bin and threw the pack of smokes away. I reminded him of this a couple of days ago. He said he thinks he's going to quit again. Me? I just keep on keeping on. I'm trying to clean out our house. We have lived here since 1995. I feel like a storage unit. We have my grandmother's china cupboard, my mother's hutch, his mother's hutch, his sister's china cupboard, two cedar chests, a dresser, and various other items here. It's time to do something about all of these things. Minimalist living sounds very appealing to me. So, um, (tongue in cheek) what am I going to do with my 1,000+ books? The pup, Sadie Mae when she's bad, just Sadie when she's good, is 3-months-old today and will be 6-months-old on Valentine's Day. She is teething. I am NOT a teething toy!!! She will be a good when we get past these puppy days. Waving to everyone! Take care! So glad you are here!

the Va ceramony was nice, then out of the blue, I lost it and was crying, trying to regain my composure, but the tears would not stop! .. then when I got home I was weepy all day long, I'd just burst out in tears, for no reason I could reasonably think of.... then talking to an old friend, she reminded me how I got sad and weepy before several other sad happenings.... well today there was a horrible bus and semi crash killing high school kids on the way to a band thing on I 70 just outside Columbus.... also I guess there has been several EQs in the new Madrid just today.... so who knows... I'm not weepy any more but all my joints hurt. PL yes it is a slow go trying to de clutter.... GG, hope the boy is better soon and you don;t get sick for the holiday, and Sadie is going to be such a sweet .. Poor old husky, he listens to his mama and knows "out" I hope the Man's scan comes out ok... tomorrow is Wednesday already.... today I washed sheets I keep on the couches for the kitties and worked in the family room, I still have not put it back together since the flood in August... I might go to carido tomorrow if I can move and see what it's all about. rest well, everyone waving to all that stop in, and oh I have been adding recipes daily in the country kitchen

Before long you will have your holiday decorations up.
The boy is going back to school tomorrow. I think he could have gone today, but he had to be fever-free for 24 hours. He was bouncing off the walls.
Yeah, Sadie is going to be a sweetheart. I am going to go out into the yard to clear out the old and dead. Ticks are really bad this year here.
And Thanksgiving is next week already!
I hope all is well with you all.

Sounds like you both have had a lot of things going on! Hope things kind of settle down before next week. Nothing exciting here. Did chiro this morning and discovered that my rear turn signal/brake light is out again so will be taking to a guy to fix it in the morning. Probably needs a new socket (like 3 years ago) because he just changed the bulb last month for me. Came home and did some more plant cleanup outside as this might be the last nice day for awhile. Now I'm worn out and heading for a

I got the front porch done today, all but the clean up I left totes out there cause it just was too dark to be treking to the barn.
I'm not sure if I'll do trees but for now I got the porch done!
hope the rear light is an easy fix, PL
I'm eating a salad for dinner, as I have not eating since last night.. and I had steamed fresh brocolli...

I'm not sure how a tree is going to go at our house. Sadie is all puppy, of course, and chewing on everything she can get her teeth into. It's not so quiet here these days. I'm not complaining. LOL! I can see that I have some puppy-proofing to do around here. But she has taken to using the puppy training pads when we don't catch her signal at the door. She has been with us for 4 weeks as of Friday.
It rained all day yesterday. And I just caught video at The Weather Channel that there were wildfires on the East Coast, in Virginia and Tennessee.

YAY! I'm not sure how we will do a tree here with Sadie. I'll figure out something, though, because I can't see Christmas without a tree.
I am tired. Somewhere I picked up a cold. My nose has been dripping all day. It's not even 8:30 yet and I'm ready to go to bed.
