Greetings everyone. It sounds like we have all had to adjust to a new normal in our senior years as it pertains to holidays. Instead of us going out to eat, I just ordered three meals from our community center that volunteers cook for Thanksgiving every year. I've never done that before. Usually, they have dine-in but this year it was only take out, which was fine, so the boys and I had a nice visit and then they went to their dad's. I may put up a few little Christmas decorations if I get enough energy, but I don't have a tree nor room for one anymore.
SAR, I wondered how much snow you might have received from that storm. It's been colder than usual here but we only had a light sprinkling of snow and it's long gone. My bed was made right at the place that sells them so I don't have a link to show you. I had to let it air out for several days and finally slept on it for the first time last night. I slept fair. It will take some getting used to. I can usually only sleep on my back and need to be elevated because of all my injuries and surgeries and since I use a CPAP machine. The memory foam top seems fairly comfortable so far.
Nice to see you stop by, Kona. Yes, grocery prices are ridiculous (as is gas and everything else now!) and yes, I'm sure you don't have many leftovers to save with your DH there. I do everything on a small scale, but then I'm not feeding anyone else.
CSue, it's nice that you are able to at least put up those lights. I don't envy all the snow you get but I know that you are used to it and well prepared.
Hoping you are all having a great weekend!
