Happy New Year everyone! Dave left today and he has a full week ahead... he sold one on his houses and has the closing coming and needs to get a few more things out of the garage there. He has to have a covid test Fri. and then one surgery on Monday.. then an appt with the specialist on the 17th to set up the ablastion. I will be so glad whrn this is all over and praying it makes everything better. he is always out of breathe and tired and cold... so I what ever they plan to do will make him good again. today I took down the den and the sun room trees and decorations... yesterday Russ came and he and Dave helped me in the dining room and front room and those trees and decorations are packed away for another year. I made corn chowder and sent my men home with large goody baskets. :) I love cooking for good eaters! :) I still have to work on undoing the kitchen then tackle the family room downstairs. but for tonight it is 21 and falling and I am beat. I for us all to have a better 2022 then the last few years.

It is so good to hear the happiness in your words, SAR. It seems like every year I hear people say they aren't sad to see another year go away. My mother used to say things like, "Every dark cloud has a silver lining," and "count your blessings instead of your troubles," "let a smile be your umbrella." Maybe everyone would be happier if we were counting the good things instead of commiserating over the troubles. There have always been troubles, and always will be. So, I think I will resolve to appreciate the good things that come along every single day. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, whichever holidays you celebrate, that they brought joy to your . Happy New Year, too.

Also praying that 2022 will be a better year for all of us than the last two years. Sending for Dave as well. Glad you had help with some of those things, SAR! I'm sure the guys appreciated the goodies. I agree, GG, about trying to appreciate the good things. I sure try to do that but sometimes I get overwhelmed by the bad ones, sadly. My youngest son is quitting his job rather than submit to the clot shot. He's already had COVID but I guess that doesn't matter to those controlling the state. He's been trying to find another job for awhile but so far no luck. Please keep him in your prayers also. Seems like it's going to be a rough winter in more ways than one!
Best wishes to everyone!

Will be poraying for him to find something quickly, PL... I will until you tell us he was hired someplace else. GG I am trying to see all things positive for this year.. remember the story about which wolf grows.. (the one you feed!) today I worked on calendar transfers and some laundry. it is Dave's B day, I order him some things to compliment what I got him for Christmas. His kids are getting together to take him out to dinner down there. I'm glad so he is not sitting at home . I could not sleep at all last night.. I tossed and turned all night... I just want tomorrow to be over and done. we have had heavy winds all days and the temps dropping like a rock and now snow. so I am cuddled in a blanket and working on my laptop. hugs to all that pop in.

You were hoping for "tomorrow" to be over? Hmmmm. What is going on in your world?
I can't believe -- well, actually, I CAN believe, it's nearly mid-January already! Time passes so quickly. I decided to keep making the gnomes until I have finished every last one of them, even if Christmas is long past. I have six or eight to finish. Then I am starting on next Christmas' list. :D Maybe I will be able to finish everything BEFORE Christmas this year if I don't let myself get side-tracked.
Because the president of my Lions Club resigned in late September, I was named to take her place. The membership is pleased. They think I should finish this year and then be president again next year. Not sure I really want to do that. But we shall see.
PL, I hope your son has found a job. Two of my daughters are facing that very same thing. DD2 is social worker at the Salvation Army in our south county. They say they can't afford the stiff daily fines ($13,000/day) for non-compliance, so if she is not complying she will be fired. If the officers in charge on-site won't fire her, someone from the district will do the firing and the officers will be fired, too. DD3 is a supervisor/family advocate at Head Start in our county. She is still trying to get a religious exemption. But if the current administration wins, she will be fired for refusing to comply with the vaccination mandate.
Do I have to tell you that we are rebels in this county? ROFLMBO!
Stay well, all. And keep smiling. I don't watch the news much. This morning I did watch an episode of "Louder with Crowder" at YouTube. They said it was the first day back after being banned for something they said. Lots of interesting conversation among the group there. Some of it was VERY humorous. But mostly I am just living my life the way I always have. They way I figure it, I will be walking on this planet as long as God wants me to be here. HE will decide when my work here is done.
I am running behind in my new year plan. Trying to get back on track. So many things I want to get done this year!

I'm sorry, SAR. I feel terrible that I didn't remember that. I remember coming to your house and helping you take down decorations. You didn't do many that year. And I just couldn't stand thinking that you would be there alone those first days.
Looks like we will have snow late Sunday into Monday. Have I said how glad I will be when we have warm weather on the horizon? I don't want to wish life away. It flies by so quickly these days. But I hate the cold.
Take care, all. Hugs!

Hugs to you, SAR. Those dates get rough as they approach but God always helps us get through them.
GG, sounds like you are on top of things with your gnomes. Sad to know that our kids are having to face employment issues because of tyranny. I hope that my granddaughter wasn't forced to get the shot where she works. Now Robert is sick after working 2 weeks nonstop before he quit. Hope he had some money saved.
Snow coming here this weekend, but how much we don't know. Went shopping yesterday so I'm stocked up in case it happens to get bad. Usually the worst of the weather goes to the north and south of us, so hopefully it won't be a big deal. I was probably one of the 20 percent who weren't wearing a mask.
My aches for all of those who are being forced into getting the deadly shots in order to keep their employment. It feels like we are living in a bad science fiction movie.
Sending love to all.

Today is my granddaughter Hannah's 18th birthday. So hard to believe!
We had a few flakes of snow fall but none of them stuck. Like usual we seem to be in a "magical" corridor that escapes most of the worst weather.
Sending up prayers for all those affected by the Tonga eruption and tsunamis There was even a "boom" heard in Alaska with the second one and volcanic pressure readings as far away as Jacksonville, Florida!
Tonga effects
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Hope things went well for Dave, SAR. Glad you were able to help him out.
Nothing exciting going on here lately. Randy took me to lunch and shopping Sunday. Just can't wait until warm weather comes back!
Watching the situation in Canada and the many thousands of truckers protesting there. I hope that what they are doing makes a difference!
to all who stop by. Hope everyone is well and having an enjoyable week.

On Saturday I was talking to a truck driver. That's what he does for a living. I said something about the stuff going on on the highways and the truckers protests. He said he's not seeing a whole lot. Of course, he delivers propane in this region and is home every night. He seemed to think the media is making more of it than actually is going on. I have no idea. I have been staying close to home, minding my own business and living my life. Where are we going from here?
I just read a book, WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? by Dr. David Jeremiah. Interesting reading. Puts it all in a Christian perspective, if you're interested. It's a pretty quick read.
I, too, will be glad to see spring. I long to be out in my flower beds and planning a garden for this year. I think I'd like to have a root cellar, too. Or maybe I'm getting too old to worry about those things? I dunno.
My daughters set up a family reading group at GroupMe. (I have 4 daughters.) We each set up a reading goal. I'm going to read at least 52 books this year. That's one a week. I read books three inches thick often so it could take me a week to read a book. LOL! I just finished book #9 in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. She has disappointed a lot of readers with this one. I'm sure she said this was to be the last one but when she was writing it she realized it was going to have to be split in two parts, so I anticipate that all of the threads will be neatly tied up in #10, whenever she finishes it. Bees took rather a number of years to write. One reader said she was in her mid-70s and probably wouldn't live long enough to read #10. The author herself was born in 1951. She's no spring chicken, either. LOL!
I have got to stop procrastinating and write the article that is due for the week. Tomorrow is over-the-hump day so we are almost to another weekend already! Take care!

Hi Ladies.. it is cold here and we are under a winter wind chill warning, never heard of that but the wind will make it feel below 0... I have a heat lamp Dave gave me to heat a small area of the shed for the old kitties. I had it on in the house to see how hot and check the cord.. feeling secure I put it on the back of a metal chair and over a black plastic tub to retain the heat. I have braved the cold several time to check it so I think it will be ok over night. I asked God and the angels to please keep it and the cats safe. I can see for myself the garage cats and the 6 inside cats... Dave is still not right... he went to Cleveland Clinic again today..final blood work and EKG before the ablation of his on the 9th. (It will be an overnight stay and I would feel so much better if he was here so I could make sure he is ok, but his daughters will either check or one will stay over with him.. at least that is what everyone is planning. the Dr said CALL if you feel or light headed at all as his just will not hold the rhythm....dr said they see scarring inside the from the Mitro valve repair 3 yrs ago. (He also had aortic anyerism repaired 5 yrs ago so they hope to fix that and then burn what ever is causing the short circuits making his race. (I'll remind you again closer to the procedure for prayers.) we both just want it done and him to improve, I miss him when he is gone but I like that he has his place and I have mine, but it is about 90 minute drive. so that's why he bring the 2 little dogs, 14 and 16 yrs old.. and stays a few days. we enjoy the company and each other... and then he goes and I get things I put off done. will peek in tomorrow.. I worked on gathering numbers for Taxes...oh I got my property taxes went up 1000+ $$$$ and I am on the homestead (over 65) Act,. this is ridiculous!
