Original post Dec 21 2004 on Yuku board I could not find the original post, but those that have emailed me for it..... ........ here is a wonderful drink you can make ahead, and drink hot or cold.. (most like it hot!) it is my hubbies recipe: Sharing some Holiday Spirit with you!!! This was a recipe handed down in Dan's family....enjoy! Dan's Spiced boil gal of water with a teaball full of whole cloves, and one full of chopped cinnimon sticks bring to full rolling boil add 7 teabags brew for 3 minutes or preference remove teabags Add squirt of real lemon add 1 can frozen OJ 1cup sugar and stir cool (It tastes better the next day, keeps 3 weeks) Great hot or cold! Can garnish with whole cin.sticks and float orange slices on top. and this also can be made 1-2 days ahead, as it gets better the longer it gets reheated. Sausage Stew... in a large roaster throw in 1-2 lbs carrots, peeled and quarted 1-2- lbs potatoes also peeled and quartered, a can or two of french cut green beans, a can of Cream of mushroom soup, (optional, chopped celery, or quartered onions, sliced water chestnuts) baked in oven 350 for 20 minutes, then add 2-4 lbs of smoked sausage cut on diagonal in 1-2 inch pieces for the last 20 minutes... I cook it low all day, and you can also use this recipe in a crockpot. it tastes better the next day. (this one is so good to make when you want to enjoy the company and not slave in the kitchen. it is a standard for me at out campfires and get togethers.)
