well after 22 hrs without electric or heat, high winds that toppled a tree onto the kitty fence, Rick made it back home and he got my space heater working, and then the electric came back on, so out we go and worked on the tree on the cat fence.... his friend Jonny came and helped us... so all is well again, still have some clean up to finish up but the heavy scary stuff is done!
I was a bit scared and did not sleep well with all the winds and no heat... but Id rather him there with his poor mom if something would have happened!!!
he's back with his mom tonight so it is usually 4 nights there then home. he'll probably have keys with in a few weeks if it all goes through... he signed papers and gave the earnest money.
GG prayers continue for Beth and you all! hope you guys are ok with that storm.
CSue I love seeing the old pics you put on FB even though I do not make it there every day! I loved Puppy Fred under the chair.
PL I sure hope you get the t fixed or a new one and a stress free week!
Waving to Kona and all that pop in

So glad your power is back on, SAR. Good thing that didn't happen in the middle of the winter. At least your vertigo is gone! Moving to someplace easier to take care of at some point sounds like a good idea. We aren't getting any younger, are we? I hit 71 in August.
Found out last night that an online friend of more than 20 years passed away November 5. You probably didn't know him, SAR, but he went by the name "Zog". Poor guy really suffered for months with cancer treatments and ALS.
Decent weather here this week, 50's and 60's. Worked outside for a little while doing plant cleanup.
Praying for a good week for everyone.

I'm glad you got your power back, Sar, and that Rick has found a place. So sad about Gracie.
Sending prayers for GG's daughter.
Sorry to hear about your online friend, PL.
We had some lovely summerlike weather last week but now into the cold again. I suppose soon we can expect snow that will stay on the ground.
I got the Christmas shopping done for my kids and grandkids. I got the two little boys remote control cars and now I'm crocheting some mittens for them. I don't crochet anything for Piper as Farrah has that covered so she has lots of nice crocheted items. For Christmas I got Piper a lamp for her bedroom that comes with sparkles, paints and stickers so she can decorate it.
My boss (although she says she's not a boss lol) from the hunting camps gave me a wonderful gift, a wooden Christmas house that lights up inside. It looks so sweet and cozy at night with the lights on. I'm not putting a Christmas tree up this year. Billy loved Christmas, he was like a kid. So in memory of him I put the outside Christmas lights up. Not sure when I'll start turning them on at night. Fred loved to watch them come on. I'm sure he will again this year.
Take care everyone and I hope the U.S. election is finalized soon. Trump won without a doubt!

PL sorry about the loss of your friend, Zog.. no I do not think I knew him.
CSue it is a good feeling when you get the shopping done. Poor Fred.. I'm glad you at least put up the lights. the Christmas Dan was close to passing I was not going to put up a ftree.. he knew how much I did for Christmas and said you put on up here for me, OK so I got a 4 ft tree and put on the table he could see it from the bed.... the next yr, I did decorate, more to just get through it and be busy..... not sure what I will do this year.
hugs and prayers for all!

Well, guys, you that have followed this saga.... I come again to ask for prayers ......I have a phone interview with the attorneys for the VA claim Dan started. I am a hot mess of crying on and off all day, as every time I have to talk to them that KNOW everything but the heartache they put the widows and widowers through, tomorrow. the lady that called was very kind when I broke down and said we are hoping to get some where with this soon... you deserve the help and we are here to help you.
so if you have time, a short prayer for this phone interview tomorrow at noon ET. I will update you when I know anything.
thanks again Sue

Sending up prayers for you, SAR, hoping that your situation with the VA will be resolved.
CSue, it's not likely I'll put up a tree or decorations either. Billy will see those lights outside, I have no doubt. The little Christmas house sounds so nice and I'm sure something that will be comforting to you.
Got my air conditioner and window covered on the outside with plastic and insulation today so hopefully that will help keep it warmer in here. We got commodities today so I was walking from apartment to apartment trading and sharing among neighbors (some can't walk). Kind of worn out and headed...

quick post as I am not done with chores yet but had to sit a minute...
the call went well they have turned the information to a "special Toxic chemical pathologist/medical Examiner. in about a month she will have a complete work up of how the chemical JP4 and 8 contributed to the cause of death.
then it goes back to VA and this time they SHOULD decide to offer a settlement, but I will let the attorney deal with fighting for the amt.
so it is all good

it has been raining since last night and now the over night tonight is to be heavy...so far the trenching and grading is diverting the water... so thankful! Today I got the green bean casserole, sweet potatoes in maple, cinnamon and marshmallows , and the dressing all cooking in crocks. tomorrow I will make fresh the mashed potatoes, gravy and turkey. Rick got 2 pies and we'll have his new best bud Jonny for dinner. (He is anticipating Jonny moving in with him and paying half the morgage.) lots to be thankful for hugs and prayers. click on image

SAR, so glad they will be having dinner with you tomorrow. I'm sure it will be a lovely day.
The boys will actually be here tomorrow since both are jobless at the moment and I am actually cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time in several years. We decided not to do turkey but making ham and Italian beef instead.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and sending up prayers for all who need them, including our country.

Sounds like your T'day went well, SAR. Mine went well except that it wiped me out. The boys noticed how tired I was and both said that we will do something easier for me next year.
I did get a new TV and they hooked it up on the stand for me. It's a little smaller than the old tv but I'm okay with it. I think that now I can do a little re-arranging in here to use the space better.
More prayers going up for GG's family, CSue, Kona, and everyone else who is in need of them this weekend.
And now to go cook some leftovers for lunch....

even when I don;t post on a day I read and ... just gets hectic here... today I have the chimney inspected and the guy had to tell Rick you HAVE to burn hot 20 minutes once a day.. he had never seen the chimney this bad. so I am sso glad I spent the $ to have him clean and inspect. we have about 3 inches of since midnight and under severe weather 8-12 inches of HEAVY wet snow and high winds.....just lovely! PL glad you got the TV hooked up and have a bit more room. adding my prayers with PL's for all tomorrow we turn the page yet again it was 3 yrs ago tonight I rush Dan to ER and then we went into Hospice care.... time just goes on even when we sometimes can;t fathom that thought. stay safe and warm everyone
