Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit! we are to say that on the first day of the month, but I do not know why! but I said it! lol it was a cold April and it looks like the first 10 days of May will be below average in the temp area here in Ohio....how it is where you are? I have leaves open on my cork screw willow, and my hosta are opening and about 5 inches tall. my astibles are poking up slowly and I thought my peonies was gone but her little sprouts appeared yesterday! my Iris's are growing like weeds! and my daffies , crocuses, and Hyacinths are done. I have wild chives everywhere, and I found Garlic in the ground, thinking it was onions, so I replanted them. I got all my pink ladies (resurrection lillys moved and settled in. got the weeds up by their roots and black mulch done in some areas. I'm thankful for Rick and all he does, even with his weird quirts, I have my own quirts so somehow we are working through all that. hope May brings us happiness, healings, and good things!

May 1, 1977, 12:02 a.m., Christina, dear daughter #2, was born. She weighed in at 9 lbs. 1 oz. Wow! I can't believe it was that long ago! Christie is social worker at the East Liverpool chapter of Salvation Army. She is keeping the food pantry going to help feed the families in the city.

Happy Birthday to Christie! and that is a wonderful service to others occupation.
we put lattice up on the west side of the porch and bricks for a walk way and a new hose connection closer to the sidewalk. so much done, so much to do and it is looking nice!
tired and hurting but tomorrow is a new day!
we are still burning wood so I have that mess.. but I think we'll bring in one more week worth and be done.
bet the weather goes from 70 to morrow the next week end 40 ... so that means we can look forward to highs and then lows then highs again for the month.
hope you all are ready for the week end!

Fairly nice weather here but cooler than normal for this time of the year. A couple of my neighbors have seen a couple of garter snakes and are freaking out. I'm like...."They are non-poisonous and eat pests so they don't bother me." Methinks they should have moved to the high-rise senior building uptown. And yes, SAR, I know how you feel about them.
Glad you have so much help these days, SAR!
GG, hope Christie had an enjoyable birthday.
Just dying to go to yard sales and other places. Wish this state would get back to normal.

I hurt so bad yesterday Rick put high powered pain cream on my hips ,lower back, and knees.. I slept like a baby! we went fro 75 to 45 today and highs in the 40s all week and snow this week end and frost and freeze warning and all my are ready to bloom! :( hang on we will probably have a blazing hot summer! (at least it will kill the virus!) hugs and prayers for all!

Yes, SAR, something is definitely off with his brain. It's very sad to watch him speak.
So bizarre that you got snow so late in the season! We had a frost warning night before last but that's all. It's supposed to be up to 80 or so by this weekend.
Hope everyone is having a pleasant Mother's Day whether you have human kids or furry kids.

had to run to the bank and store.... first time out in 12 weeks!.......then storms came and we are surrounded by water.. what Rick has been working on is helping ..a lot.. but we got several inches quickly and the run off from the massive bare field next to me , so nothing is working fast enough, I am thankful no water inside... but we have one more heavy storm then clear!..
and as we were assessing the water Rick yelled SNAKE.. and I ran. I was with in 4 inches of a COPPERHEAD! we mostly just have garden snakes ,corn snakes, and rat snakes here.. but it was a freaking baby copperhead. I am still shaking! it must have been wash out in the flooding!
there goes my yard work for the yr!

Oh geesh! A copperhead! Hopefully as things dry up that situation will too. Hope your headache is better now. Those Nevada quakes were quite surprising, as were the ones in Utah and Idaho since the first of the year.
It's warm and rainy here. I did work outside on my plants Thursday and Saturday and got some , tomatoes and herbs planted. The irises' that Nettie planted when she lived here are all blooming, purple, yellow, etc. and one neighbor who planted lilac bushes in the fall already has on them.
Found out that the fellow next door (his mom is the one who fell and broke her leg and foot a few months ago) got some kind of gastrointestinal infection and had to be hospitalized. He now has an attached drain bag but says that the doctors told him it can be removed once he is healed. Poor guy! I helped them carry groceries in Thursday. She's still having to use a walker.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

Was thinking about Dan yesterday. And you. Special days are always difficult for those left behind. Hope you are drying out enough to do things outside, SAR!
Mostly sunny today but only in the 60's. Think I'll try to head outside this morning to work on my container garden. Hoping to have enough artificial on hand to make a new arrangement for Ryan's headstone as well.
Hope everyone has a good day!
