"For us, [9-11] was our Pearl Harbor," Anthony said, noting how so many of us have a strong reaction to the pain and suffering of the victims because they were everyday people. September 15, 2020 Coast Insider Audio Possible Sign of Life Detected in Atmosphere of Venus: In what may ultimately turn out to be a landmark discovery, astronomers have detected a curious chemical in the atmosphere of Venus which could be a sign of alien life. The remarkable find, announced in a paper published on Monday, centers around the gas phosphine, which scientists observed at approximately 30 miles above the surface of Venus. What makes the detection of phosphine so tantalizing is that, here on Earth, it is only produced by industrial activity or found near microbes, which is why it is considered by some researchers to be a good indicator for possible alien life. Learn more. Venus Genetically Altered Mosquitoes: In the first half of Monday's show, leading spokesperson on the health dangers of genetically modified foods, Jeffrey Smith updated his work on the epic battlefronts on the war for GMOs, and the dangerous implications of 750 million genetically engineered mosquitoes being released in the Florida Keys over the next two years. The mosquito plan is going ahead even though thousands of people spoke out against it, he noted. The newly engineered mosquito was designed so that its female offspring die in the larval stage (only the females bite and can spread disease). But, we know with genetic engineering, nothing goes as planned, he remarked, and indeed in Brazil, where the altered insects were previously released, hybrid mosquitoes developed, and the gene pool was altered forever. Smith warned that changing just one gene can alter more of the genes of an organism in unexpected ways. View the complete recap. Are You a Coast Insider? As far as back as ancient Egypt, cats were venerated as protectors, he noted, and thought to possess a kind of magic, with their finely attuned senses. Cats have also been identified with the Devil, who is sometimes said to appear as a black cat. A witch named Elizabeth Francis, tried for witchcraft in the 16th century, was said to have a cat named 'Satan' who was fed a diet of blood and could speak directly to her. In later years, sightings tend to be mere "lights in the night sky," he noted, with the objects seemingly a great distance away. Regarding the famed Roswell incident, some of the witness testimonies haven't held up, though there is still a solid core of data. He talked to Col. Richard Weaver recently, who maintains that what crashed came from the Project Mogul test balloons, though Randle leans toward a non-terrestrial explanation. Get the complete story here. During a study on brain injuries in football players, she and her team discovered that a combination of diet and lifestyle changes made "tangible, measurable changes" in the damaged brains of the athletes, and this may have implications for brain function in apparently healthy individuals as well. NC Bigfoot print Freedom of Thought: Michael Rectenwald is a recently retired Professor at New York University, where he taught cultural and social history and academic writing since 2008. In the first half of Wednesday's show, he argued that the powerful movement of postmodernism is successfully dismantling scientific truth at universities, and those who oppose it are being silenced and de-platformed. He explained that postmodernism is a philosophy or theoretical school of thought that emerged out of France in the 1960s and 70s, which contends that "reality and truth are purely social constructs." The effect of this, he continued, is to make truth inaccessible and promote a socialist ideology. He compared the current climate to what Galileo went through, persecuted for his correct ideas about the solar system. Postmodernism, he added, has made scientific reasoning forbidden if it challenges the reigning viewpoints, with belief trumping empirical evidence. Get the full story here. Are You a Coast Insider? Energy Grid & Planet X: In the latter half of Wednesday's show, former professor of mathematics and physics at Cornell University, James McCanney, discussed the world's energy grid and crumbling infrastructure, how to gain energy independence, as well as the latest on Planet X. He shared updates on his JMCC WING Generator, a highly efficient wind machine that he said has many improvements over three-blade wind turbines. McCanney is working on models that are large enough to replace nuclear and coal power plants. With just 800 of these units, we could not only replace all such plants in the US but provide enough energy for the upcoming surge of demand for electric automobiles, he enthused. The large models would be around 800 ft. in diameter, he detailed, and the cost for each would only be about $10 million. View the complete recap here.
