CSue, yeah when I ugly cry I had to deal with is for days after... GG OMG Sandy!!!! at one time we were very close so sad... prayer for the baby! well I will fill you in.... Sunday night I was hit with intense pain in abdomen...passed blood, puked cause pain was so intense.... Monday morning I was fine, most of the day I was fine....but last night, OMG was up ALL night puking in pain and passing blood... today I went to ER... they did not even let me fill out forms cause the pain was so bad I couldn't stand...... cat scans, blood work, morphine and other pain meds.....results are..... I have a kidney stone that moved out of kidney into ureter trying to work itself out. all blood work and numbers ok/good..... I was really scared it was going to be adhesions causing problems again....so all in all, it was not a attack, (I actually thought maybe I was having one !) and hopefully my body will do what is needed to flush it out on its own..... so prayers would be appreciated to pass it quickly and have the pains gone.... I also want to say how lucky I am that friends came and were my family since my kid is so far away.... the dr let me have her on speaker phone when she gave me the results. Thank you Fran and Rick! tonight I am not hurting but I think I may still have a bit of the "good" stuff from the IVs and I am counting on sleeping tonight!..I truly feel blessed for my tribe and that this is "fixable". Now I hope I do not have anything "exciting" for awhile, the last 3 days was enough for the whole yr.

SAR, keeping you in my prayers as you try to recover from your kidney stone episode.
GG, glad your Jeep finally got fixed and that your grandson is getting better.
CSue, hope you don't lose power again either! Not sure if you will be affected by the cold front coming down but by the weekend temps will be dropping down drastically here. Not looking forward to it.
PT Thursday and will see if I can drag myself to a store to get extra groceries so I won't have to go out again for a few days. Not a big fan of the cold!

Day 5 of this gem! I do think it is moving down toward bladder as the pain is not as intense, and it is located in lower back and front... I'm still drinking tons, and running to pee it out.. lol TMI! I do not ewant to leave the house, but we are to get bad weather the next 7 days... so I guess being a prepper comes in handy! now if my propane gets delivered tomorrow I am all set for while anyway. hang in there everyone!

SAR, so sorry that you are still suffering. Hope it will be over soon. Don't forget to keep your immune system built up (and keep drinking lots of water) afterwards as those stones scraping along the ureter can make you prone to infection. With all of my stone episodes they were either small enough to pass within an hour or so or were too large to pass and I was repeatedly vomiting so had to go to the hospital. Usually, I had to have them blasted or retrieved. I managed to get to the store for a few last minute things after PT yesterday so I won't have to go out until Monday. After all the we got the last two days, the wind gusts started and the temps started dropping. Not looking forward to near 0 low temps the next several days and wish I didn't have any appointments next week. Stay safe and warm, everyone!

the cold and wind have been horrible here, PL.. I'm in have been in for a week other than the trip to ER on Tues. it is definately moving, but not out yet, I can feel pressure and discomfort real low, not like when this all started ... (I think it was in the kidney and passing through.. OMG I hope this never happens again!!!) Im straining all urine through a screen so it has not passed yet...
today I forced myself to move, and got the last tree packed up, I;ll clean tomorrow,
stay safe and warm everyone.

A new day, a new week. It was 26 felt like 6 degrees when Sadie went outside this morning before 7. She raced 30 mph around the yard, leaping in the air and loving the less than 2 inches of snow on the ground. She did not want to come inside! LOL! She was loving it. Remember when we were children and played and romped in the snow, nearly freezing, but we didn't care. It was so much fun to play in the snow!
I hope everyone is warm and safe and dry and well today. I expect to meet the newest member of our family later today. The baby is about 5 weeks old and doing much better.
SAR, I hope you are feeling much better, too.
Have a great week, everyone!

I looked up how long this might take,, and for a stone the size of mine could take 8 to 15 days, and maybe up to 22 days! but I'm doing all I am told so maybe it will be soon, I am not in bad pain, and I can feel something going on, but not yet found anything in the screen strainer... Man I have all the space heaters on and it is still cold.... I made a big pot of chicken soup for the week. stay safe and warm, everyone.

br rrrr it's cold
I think something is moving along as I am not in pain but every now and then hit with nausea and discomfort..... like when the stone was moving out of the kidney.... it is day 8, and I've been posting in the health forum things I am finding... and the size of my stone is said to take 8 to 22 days to work itself out....
so will keep drinking but I ordered something called stone breaker for if these ever happens again, I hear from people that used it, it really works and makes peeing them out way easier..... TMI, but will keep you posted.
but the cold is hard to deal with and my joints are screaming!!!
stay safe everyone!

well, I ended up back in ER thoday, woke at 5 am intense pain and vomiting from said pain! I fought it till about 1 pm then called Rick and went to er, the stone dropped out of ureter (causing all the severe pain) into the bladder while I was there... no pain now, but pressure, I think from left over pain, Dr said I'd be tender a few days and the stone might come out, or it could float in bladder for the next 5 yrs!!! I said seriously? he said yes.

Sure is nice to hear that you are finally out of so much pain, SAR. I don't think you ever said what size the stone was. Hope it passes completely out so you won't have to deal with it anymore. Sounds like you and GG are getting hit with lots of snow. We were fortunate to only get maybe an inch and today it's just above freezing but will be dropping again before warming up to better weather.
GG, hope you got to enjoy seeing the new baby!
Did PT and chiro this morning and now chilling (or rather trying to stay warm) at home. Went to gastro doc for the results of the endoscopy and biopsies yesterday. It was all good other than the gastritis I've been dealing with but it's improving with certain foods and supplements and the doc was fine with it all!
Hope everyone is keeping warm and doing well.

PL it is 1.7 mm
I'm still screening urine but the intense pain isn;t so bad, but last night when the meds from the hospital wore off, I was miserable... I think from all the spasms and it dropping into bladder... this morning the pressure was way less, but I could still know I had been through an ordeal!
we are on snow watch, up to 14 in here, cause after the widespread snow over night, we'll be getting lake effect.
I took a hot shower and will take a pill and hope tomorrow all the discomfort is gone!
stay safe everyone

Ouch, SAR. I sure hope you feel better by tomorrow. The stones that sent me to the hospital were usually between 3 mm and 6 mm. Seems like the first one was about a 3 and left me with kidney spasms after I passed it (in 1990 and I didn't know I was pregnant!). I never did ask how large the last one that caused my sepsis was in my lone kidney, but it was certainly life threatening. I hope you NEVER get another one! I 'm not envious of your lake effect snow up there! We usually only see a little snow a couple of times each winter here and that's enough for me. Saw enough of it growing up in the Chicago area.
Hope everyone is safe and warm!

I went out a short while last night to see a friend and his band, but oh I could have stayed home!!!! anyway I was miserable and my nurse friend seems to think I am having kidney and bladder spasm.. if that is what it is it is almost as bad and what took me to ER! but I finally took a pill last night and slept till 11.30 this morning, and though I still have some pressure, the spasms and uncomfortable feeling is much less! I hope this ends soon and also I never ever go through this again!!!! we have about 11 inches and it is now doing lake effect, should end tomorrow, and 2 more cold days, then a melt and ! so we go from intense cold and snow to and flooding... winters in Ohio!!!!! here is Fran Me and Barb last night....
