Summer is upon us! The calendar says it's a couple of weeks away, but the weather says it's here. Hot and dry here today. Spent time outside watering, trimming plants, etc. early this morning and hit some yard sales and a couple of quick store trips early yesterday and it completely wore me out so planned on staying home today, especially with the 90+ temperature. A number of festivals, parades, farmers markets, music concerts, etc. will be going on in our area this month. Sure would love to be able to make it to some of them. Hope you're all having a GOOD weekend!

: I hope Sue is OK. I haven’t seen her around here for a few days; that’s not like her. Hopefully she’s out having a good time with all of her new clubs and friends. We had beautiful weather the past week or so: high 80s, nice and dry. Everything’s blooming all around. Seems things are a little late this year. Today was cold, windy and rainy and only in the 50s! I had to put my little heater on in the bathroom. Same on the way for tomorrow. Yuck! I’ll stay home and catch up on paperwork and straightening up. Lots of festivals and farmers markets going on around here too. We also had a few high school graduations last night. Too bad the weather is not nice over the weekend for their parties… Hope all is well with everyone and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Glad to see you stop by, Kona. I'm sure Sue is okay. She's probably just busy like usual and will show up soon.
I agree that the weather is running late this year. I usually have more things planted in March and April but it was just too cool and we had a late freeze. Very unusual for here. It's hot now, though!

Hi Ladies, yes very busy, some things I'd rather not post on line, but I am working diligently to remedy the situation..... and of course there is the yard, and weeds, and cats, and raccoons! OMG there is a 35 lb mama racoon we are all trying to trap and her "kid" is at least 20 lbs, they have been getting into the cat enclosures and wrecking havoc everywhere... they dug up my Annie!!!! I had huge rocks covering her grave, and they moved the rocks, I had to re bury her... and the next morning, well, I hope I do not find pieces parts, cause there was nothing in the hole. so yeah, I totally forgot to post a June thread! thanks PL! I am lucky to spend 15 minutes on here when I can sit. I did go to a music bingo last night, and won a 5.00 certificate. I always enjoy that I will be going less and less to the clubs, with summer, I am just too tired to go in the evening. the temps have been 85 plus for 10 days and no , farmers are not able to plant in the drought. still saying no till at least NEXT Sunday, it's already been 15 days... early for a drought. hope you all are enjoying the beautiful weather.

Glad you checked in Sue. Sorry to hear about Annie’s grave. Oh my God that’s terrible! That’s a big raccoon.
Hope you get everything else worked out. Glad you’re having nice weather, but it does require more attention to the yard.
Still cold and dreary here. At least tonight it’s not so cold in here. I couldn’t bring myself to turn on the heat the past few days. The old timers; my Dad and and MIL have had theirs on since Friday night. I must say it was really cozy at Dad‘s the other day! I think CSue might be getting some of this rainy weather too. The latest thing here is smoke from fires in Canada. Can’t really see it because it’s cloudy all the time but they say it might get worse the next couple days and we will smell it for sure.
Oh well believe it or not I’m fighting to stay awake. Take care all and hope you have a good rest of the week!

Well, I buried Emma Jean yesterday, and I never found annie...but I trapped the mamma coon and she is in a better place, tonight the juvile will hopefully go meet his mamma..... I got errands to get to, and then possibly a very busy couple days, depending on what I want to do, there is a cruise in at the winery Thurs night, Karoke at the eagles Fri night and music bingo Sat night, so I may hit them all, or just a few, but I am trying to build my single life and if someone is local and nice, who knows, but I quit looking. Dave still comes, but I am trying to amicably end the week ends it is down to once a month but is impeded my fun times cause he is always sick or doesn;t want to do anything. and Rick, is rick, and I will have to deal with him since he lives 5 miles, but I told him he is not respecting me, my time, or my boundaries. so besides all that, I am just me, taking care of everything ..again. I miss having a partner, but I am not good at picking them, I guess. so that's where I am right now! hope you all are in a good place! and Kona we have the smoke and haze here, and it is still no ! I better run, got 3 calls trying to get out of here... lol!

SAR, that's terrible about the raccoons! Glad you caught her! I do know one thing that deters them....moth balls. If you happen to make another grave, maybe put one or two in the grave to keep the raccoons from digging them up. I hear you about being too tired in the evenings. I've about given up on doing anything at night. Sorry to hear about Emma Jean. Dan has lots of company, doesn't he?
Kona, I think most of us IC'ers are being impacted by the Canadian fires. Our skies are hazy down here but nowhere near what those of you to the north are dealing with. Our temps here are still warm but at least at night it's been in the 50's and 60's. My plants outside are thriving. This weekend's main event here is the Superman Festival. We have the only town named Metropolis in the U.S. so they take advantage of it every year and people come from all over the country for it. It's about 50 miles away so too far for me to go, unfortunately.
It was a beautiful morning today, so I hit a few yard sales. I spent a whole $4. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Dave came up for this week end, so this throws me out of kilter, but I was, anyway, woke with vertigo 3 morning in a row. I know it is all in my neck, but the good chiros are not taking new patients, and i refuse to let someone that is not wet behoing the ears to mess with my neck. we are to get 1 inch of later today, can;t wait, the hazy skies, and smoke filled air are horrible. it is a shame the festival is so far, PL, wish you had someone to go with and that would drive. it sounds like fun. Dave will leave tomorrow and we are to get a bit of unsettled weather (maybe each day) for the next 5 days, we sure need it. enjoy the rest of the week-end, everyone!

SAR, we got and it looks like it's coming at you, too! As far as the vertigo, depending on what's causing it, many physical therapists can often help with that also. That's how I got help for mine. Had kind of hoped to go to a big farmer's market thing today (with live music, food trucks, all kinds of crafts, etc.) but it didn't start til noon and after all I did this morning I am just too tired. Headed off for a .

SAR, yesterday was my son Robert's birthday. Took him out to eat and we had a wonderful visit. We've been having such nice weather, too. Now off to water plants and work outside before it gets hot. Hope everyone is having an enjoyable week.

I'm on the laptop so thought I'd post. I love the lilac wallpaper Sue! I don't see all of the "pretties" from the phone app. Hope your vertigo gets better and that you get caught up on things. I think that can be caused by a lot of things... One of my neighbors gets it really bad and nothing was helping. They found out it was caused by "migraine" without the headache. I thought that was strange. Hopefully with a new treatment plan he will find relief. Glad you had a nice day with Robert plantlady! Official Summer is not even here yet so we should have lots of nice days to enjoy the festivals and markets in our areas. I'm sick of hearing what terrible summer this has been so far! I'm like; "it hasn't even started yet"! It's been pretty nice here. Cool and for tomorrow but it is supposed to be really nice for a while after that. Hope all of you enjoy the weekend and the start of Summer next week!

Kona, I guess we'd better enjoy the nice days because we know REAL summer is coming soon. Vertigo can be caused by a number of things. Glad I was able to get mine resolved. Hope SAR is getting her problem figured out. She's having computer issues right now so may not be on much until it gets fixed.
Chance of today, even storms, but I'm guessing that most of it will go to the south of us.

Hi everyone. I haven't been here for awhile, too busy following all the nonsense going on the world. We had some rainy weather, then hot and now back to cold and . It's not raining today but it's cloudy and not so cold. We never got the smoke here from all those fires. We had a scare when a forest fire broke out behind my sister's house down over the hill, they were ready to evacuate but the firefighters and water bombers got it out fast. My garden is growing good except my cucumbers. I had a beautiful plant started inside, it got big and was blossomed so I put it out in the garden and then all that came and killed it. I should of dug it back up and brought it in. I planted some more seeds, I hope they grow but probably won't amount to much now with such a late start. Sar, I had bad dizzy spells last winter. I looked it up on Earth Clinic and they suggested the Epley Maneover. I did that and no more dizzy spells. What happens is the crystals in the ear get displaced. The Epley Manoever puts them back in place. My sister also started have vertigo. I told her about that maneover, she didn't do it, instead went to the ER and they told her to do it. lol It worked, she doesn't have vertigo anymore. So maybe that is what is going on with you. Here's a video I used to learn it.

Hi, Ladies. I'm so scarce around here. My daughter is working four 10-hour days for the summer so I have the 7-year-old from 6:45 a.m. to about 5:30 p.m. We have been doing some tent camping, though. Love the get-away. But I'm six books behind in my 2023 reading challenge. Trying to catch up. LOL! Life keeps happening!
It has been pretty warm today. I got a few things done, but mostly I was reading and taking notes with a book I am reading. And some crochet. And phone conversation with DD #3. It's just about time to call it a day.
It's nice to read what you all are up to. And SAR, it took you a little while, but you are building a social life. This is awesome.
