For many of us, and trees are blooming, birds are making nests and grass is needing to be mowed. It's actually going to be 80 degrees here today and tomorrow, but then temps will drop off. I've been working outside getting containers ready for planting. Feels so good to be able to get outside.
Hoping you are all well and doing a few things you enjoy while staying home!

My roses are alive now, and the peonies are about six inches high. The bleeding as little pink hearts dangling. Elderberries, blueberries and blackberries have sprouted new leaves. I drove a back road to a friend's house the other day. (Yes, we kept six feet between us while we visited.) Forsythia is out and beautiful! Daffodils and jonquils, too. It is a beautiful time of year despite everything going on in the world around us. It's supposed to reach about 65 today. We will take it. I started out the day on the patio writing in my journal. Charlie (my collie) started to pester me. I put him in the house and went back to my chair on the patio. And in less than five minutes began to spit on me. So, we will take the spring showers that will bring the May . On Sunday we planted onions, garlic, rhubarb and -- gasp, asparagus. I was surprised to learn what is involved with raising asparagus. LOL! We won't be able to harvest it for at least two years and full harvest is 4-6 years. I guess we have plenty of reason to still be here in 4-6 years. There still is plenty to get planted. Ashley insists we are gardening big, harvesting enough for us and to share with neighbors, and preserving plenty for the winter. I was thinking the other day about Victory Gardens. I wrote about them in last week's FRC article. Interesting stuff, if you have some time you don't know what else to do with. I hope my article encourages others to think about gardening this year. Here is the link if you're interested: www.salemnews.net/opinion/local-columns/2020/04/pushing-for-victory-gardening-can-help/Have a wonderful day, friends. The Lord bless you and ke- ep you. The Lord lift his countenance upon you. And give you peace.

Sounds like you are really going at it, GG! I'm jealous. Asparagus is one of those plants that takes a long time to produce....but it will produce for years!

Well, zzzzzzzzzzzip. My post vanished. I guess I shouldn't have been waxing political. ROFLMBO. Suffice it to say that the politicians need to think before they open their mouths. I don't care if the President is a loud mouth. I don't care if he's self-centered. A lot of men are. I just care that the American people are receiving protection, care, and treatment as we work through all of this. One of the lessons I have learned is that a lot of us were right a couple of decades ago when we said our jobs should not be going off-shore. We rely too much on other countries -- China at the current time -- to provide for our needs. We should be keeping that right here at home and providing for ourselves, selfish, self-centered woman that I must be.

good morning ladies I'm on the laptop and don;t have all my passwords so no images today!

I dug up and replanted weeping forsytheias, hostas, flowering peachm and honey suckles plants in the attempt to move little areas into places where we can make the whole yard care easier on us both,
the Electric co. came today will need to replace the pole to the house and the security light that was hit with the last storm.
we have ferals ready to pop out kittens any day.. but went from 15 outside to 6 in 5 days,,preditors, viruses, and hormones...!
you all have a great day and I will get some Easter graphics up soon.

I'm glad everyone is doing fine during this pandemic. I've been going to the store whenever we need anything. Billy has been staying home except last Saturday he drove to the store. First time out for him in quite awhile. He sat in the truck and had a good chat with one of his cousins and a friend while I was in the store. They stayed back away from his truck window.
We've been having warmer weather and the snow is going fast but more snow coming Thursday night into Friday. I don't mind this spring snow, it will all melt away quickly.
Billy's boss doesn't think the asphalt plant will be able to run next month so Billy decided to retire. I won't have work either, the camps won't be able to run for bear hunting as the Americans won't be able to get across the border and it would be hard to social distance there.
Continue to stay safe everyone!

CSue is there something like unEmployment for you and Social security for Billy.. When Dan was sick we had to take a cut in his SS but we tightened up and got along... it was hard until I turned 62...
here in the States most everyone will get 1200.00 or more to help ease this crisis... thing is it is OUR money but I will not get into that.
Rick is the one that runs the errands and groceries whe we need them but I try t make sure he does not have to leave but maybe once every 2 weeks if that...
glad you weighed in and glad you are getting some spring weather up there too.

Wow, SAR, wonder what happened to your café post? I was beginning to wonder if you were okay. (although I figured you were probably just busy) I worked outside again this morning as it was in the 70's. Tonight possible severe storms and then the temperatures will drop for a few days so I'm glad I got a few things done.
CSue, this epidemic seems to be a life changing event for many people. If Billy is old enough to retire I can't blame him for making that decision. As far as your job, I'm sure you will miss that extra income but I hope you are able to make it anyway.
GG I couldn't agree with you more about the job issue. It's refreshing to have leadership that actually addresses and tries to fix the problem.
So my neighbor Pam's apartment now has a bad water leak. The housing guys are working like crazy trying to fix my old apartment so she can move over there as they say they don't have any other place to put her. Unfortunately that will put her right next to the neighbor I was glad to move away from!
Prayers for you all. I think we will all come out of this situation with even more strength and common sense than we already have.

Glad everyone is doing well. Same here for now. That storm is heading this way. Should start in a few hours.
Hopefully I'll stay home today. Always have lots to do around here. The lady that takes care of my Mom is still working so that's a big plus. Dad is still home from work so it's nice that she can tend to Mom's needs during the day and he can rest. I'm going to make a spiral ham tomorrow and bring it to them on Saturday. I'll probably go back on Sunday with a pie for their dessert.
Stay safe everyone. Wishing all of you a Happy Easter and may God Bless and take care of us all.
